  1. Run a AMCE 422 on my 2012 with 343 PMC. Provides a nice wake and the boat tops at 43 mph 5000 rpm. This is not he stock prop but after market.
  2. Wish Glastron would bring that hull back and update for todays 300 hp outboards. I did look over the J-Craft website, they do have a boom mount in the center of the boat floor.
  3. The JCraft has great lines! Any US dealers?
  4. We have a place on land between Bellaire and Torch lake. Bellaire is good for skiing early most days but does get busy by 11 am Also Clam lake in the early morning can be ok. I keep my boat at Dewitts and they launch and takeout for me so handy but they don't start earl enough. We only visit from time to time hoping to relocate full time to the area in 3 years. If a group wants to meet up at Dockside or Shorts we are in, be good to meet. We will be in Bellaire 6/26-7/3.

    Best Bimini?

Call Silver Spray Sports in Fenton MI. My 2012 200 CB was just fitted with a non tower Bimini and it fits perfect, is easy to collapse and boot and drive with it still installed on the boat, or remove and install by one person.
  6. Called on progress for my new old stock 2012 200 I purchased in Nov 21. The trailer is still being built, the Bimini top will arrive in Feb. I want to get it out of storage as soon as the ice is off the lake! so I started my 100 day countdown to launch. In the meantime went snow sking last weekend and going this friday night. It is fun and really helps to be excited about the coming winter weekend.
  7. when the boat is on plane wouldn't the ladder be out of the water completely?
  8. I like your design of the ladder support, I need to get to my boat this winter and measure the distance between the brackets. I was planning a 1/8" ss plate as wide as the brackets and about 14" deep. Your two bars is a better design, thank you!
  9. Can someone with a 2012 measure the center to center holes for the swim platform that are bolted to the bracket from left to right when standing at the rear swim platform . I want to order a 12 guage ss steel plate that will be as wide as the brackets are were the platform rest on when mounted.
  10. I like the idea of the ski handle on the rear eye, I do have a handle and rope that was messed up and would be a quick setup. If they cant get in the boat they will just have to swim for shore! I could mount a 10 ga ss plate between the current swim platform bracket and fiberglass platform. Bolt in place with the platforms fasteners and mount the swim ladder to the new plate. Probably make it go from both brackets so the platform is spaced evenly. Could use counter sunk ss allen head screws from the top of the ss bracket and ss lock nuts on the ladder when bolted together. Boat is in storage so it will have to wait until spring.
  11. I been into fast boats, motorcycles, and cars for years. Hi compression engines do require high octanes to prevent engine damage from the fuel air mixture exploding on its own rather than the spark from the plugs. Almost as if it acts as a diesel engine. You normally hear the pinging from the engine and if left unchecked it will destroy the engine. Most of our marine engines are lower compression and have limited spark advance and do not need higher octane fuels. Octane prevents pinging but does not really make more power on its on. That is why the HP output in the test is very similar and the variations could just be due to changes during the test conditions. So save your money and run the octane fuel recommend by the engine manufacturer I will add the quality of the fuel could also make a big difference, does it use MTBE, ethanol, or other additives. In the north we have winter vs summer fuels that are easier to vaporize in cold weather. I run 91 octane marine fuel for the fact that being non ethanol it is much better on the rubber and plastic parts in the boats fuel system.
  12. I was dead set on an open bow prostar or 200. Looked at used boat in person and decide on a 2012 200 closed bow. Tons of storage in the bow and the side saddles. I think the passenger area is slightly larger on the closed bow. One option is a prostar with the fiberglass bow cover, it would give lots of space to store items, just not sure on hard it is to remove to access gear.
  13. The 668 is the same dia and pitch as the 422 but has .150 cup vs the 422's .105 cup. how does the increased cup help with holeshot and not dropping rpm as much as the 422?
  14. What happened? Did the prop get caught in the lane marker ropes and lock up the motor?
  15. I am using the boat at 350 ft above sea level in Michigan. Boat is in storage at Silver Spray Sports for the winter, really bummed out not to be using it this fall but did not work out. I will look over the link, Thanks!
