  1. @aupatking I definitely would recommend an overlay on your binding though. Whether you go with something similar to mine or a rear kicker. It helps stabilize and reduces the rolling of your foot in the back boot. There's a fine line between being able to move onto the front of the ski and your foot moving around too much, making it difficult to be balanced and consistent with your moves. Heel lift is good but foot roll within the back boot is not from my experience. I think the big key is to have a boot with no wraps that go above the ankle bone. Having control above the ankle promotes heavy turns, which is not a good trait with Zero Off. You want all the heavy load to be behind the boat not at the bouy.
  2. Hey guys! Thought I'd jump in and provide a little info on my back boot. My boot is very similar to what my Mom (Susi Graham) used when she skied on the tour. I believe it was a boot made by EP and called the "Comfort Grip". The only difference with mine is I got rid of the front tongue with the finger holes. I never used them to get the binding on and all they served to do was create more drag. So now the front piece is just a Wiley XL toe piece. My Dad (Ricky McCormick) has the template for the overlays used on that EP binding from back in the day. So we just cut out overlays when we need them. The back piece of the binding is just the front part of an old EP binding my Mom used to use that we trimmed down. I also punch enough holes in the overlay so its loose enough I can pick up my heel, but not twist or move around in the binding. I've been using this binding for about 5 years now. Seems to work pretty well for me. Hope this helps answer most of the questions! -Cole McCormick
