  1. Haven't done a tournament yet, so only practice for me. The group I ski with only counts it as a PB if you've run your passes consecutively though.
  2. thx @UWSkier I went back and read the product descriptions more carefully, looks like I also need this gasket for the bottom: https://global.bakesonline.com/indmar-thermostat-gasket-3-bolt-housing.html
  3. Looking for some advice on the correct gasket for a thermostat replacement on a 2012 Moomba Outback with an Indmar Assault 325. Do these look like the correct parts: Thermostat: https://global.bakesonline.com/indmar-160-degree-marine-thermostat.html Gasket: https://global.bakesonline.com/gasket-indmar-thermostat-2-bolt-housing.html 2 seasons ago the impeller came apart mid-season and the engine overheated. Both exhaust pipes were cracked but thankfully no other engine damage. Over the past few days the temp gauge on the dash has been acting a bit strange. At speed in the course it's fluctuating between 135 - 150, but at idle or while moving slowly the gauge rises to around 180. This is new behaviour for the gauge, in the past once the engine has warmed up the temp gauge generally sits at 150. I checked the raw water strainer (clean), pulled the impeller (perfect condition) and checked the transmission cooler for any residue impeller debris from past impellers. I'm thinking it could be the thermostat acting up, but any other ideas? Thx All
  4. I'm with @coach3, nice smooth pull out, focus on weight forward and well stacked on the glide and then a smooth pull helps me refocus.
  5. I purchased the system in April of this year and it arrived with Rev.R. Has anyone dealt with ZO and getting an upgrade for a system?
  6. Hi all, thank you for all of the replies and suggestions. I'm going to keep at the having "fun in the water" work. I love the idea of pulling him on his combos on grass and then in shallow water. Our dock / lake property is all deep water entry, but we have friends on the lake with a beach area that we can visit for the "pulling along the shore" practice.
  7. We have a 7yr old who has hesitation around deep water. Last summer (2022) we were able to get him up on the boom 3x (2x at the lake house and once at home at our local club), each time it took a lot of discussion and persuasion and there were definitely some tears involved. He's in the boat with me all the time spotting, he loves pretending to be skiing from a handle on the pylon (mimics dropping and arm, doing skier hand signals), he will even come in with me and ski if I hold him up on combos, but this season we cannot convince him to try on the boom again. Our focus is all about having fun in and around the water. Working on his reluctance to be in deep water etc. As a super eager dad I want him to love skiing, but I also don't want to force him and make things worse. Has anyone else experienced similar, any tips?
  8. Thanks @Horton @LeonL and @jpwhit, I went in deleted the 2nd mapped course at lunch today, but haven't had a chance to try it again. When I re-did the mappings last night I hit the "select" button as the pylon went through the gates, I'll delete the other mapping and re-map and time it for the puck through the gate. I have a single puck ZO system.
  9. A couple of ZO questions and a random glitch yesterday. New ZO system installed in the boat this season running Rev.R. - Q: In the Skier Profile screen, what is the "RopeSW Timeout" setting for? - Q: We mapped our local course going in each direction and saved them as Course #1 going East and Course #2 going west. Is that normal, or should it only be mapped in ZO once. - Glitch: Yesterday going through the course from East to West the boat set @ 34mph the boat went into the boat gates hotter than normal, settled to 34 at the entry gates and then as it progressed through the course the speed dropped to mid to low 33 mph. But then travelling the course from West to East was holding @ 34mph. After our set we deleted both saved courses (each direction) and re-mapped, today the ZO seemed to be holding at a steady 34 mph travelling in both directions down the course. Has anyone ever encounter an issue like this before? Thx, Sean
  10. I found a replacement Moomba trim piece from https://www.greatlakesskipper.com/, I filled in the factory cruise mount location with glass and epoxy. Used a hole saw to create a new centred location for the ZO head unit and then covered with a carbon fibre look vinyl wrap. I wanted to do the epoxy work and cut the new hole in a replacement part incase I made any mistakes.
  11. This project was my first attempt at using a vinyl wrap, definitely more challenging than I expected with all of the angles on my dash trim. Took me a couple of attempts to get it close to perfect, it still lifted a bit on the steep angle around the Tach gauge.
  12. Following up with a couple of photos of the final product. Thx @Horton for straightening out my account.
  13. Thx @Horton for fixing me up, post screen looks just like the demo you made now
  14. @Horton thanks for looking into this for us.
  15. Newbie question, and I apologize if this has already been answered in other threads. I don't have the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files" option. I'm only seeing an option for "Insert image from URL" when I try to create a new post or reply to a post in the forum. I also tried using a link to a publicly shared photo on Dropbox and Google Photos but the URL box turns red when I select to "Interest into Post", do I need to use a different service for sharing from a URL? I'm using the latest version of Chrome on a Mac running latest version of Ventura if that makes any difference. Thx for any tips in advance.
  16. I'm relatively new to course skiing, this is my second season. I've been open water skiing since I was a kid and generally only had 1 deep water start per set to contend with. Last year when I started skiing at my local ski school and in the course at our lake house I had a big adjustment to make moving from 1 deep water start to 6-8 per set. Combined with bad deep water start habits and not enough emphasis on core strength (+ too much time sitting at a desk for work) led to back strain which took several weeks to sort out. I definitely agree with a combination of @BraceMaker and @lpskier. I also use a velcro back brace under my vest at the start of the season to remind me to keep my core tightened until I rebuild my core muscles and can stop using the brace. I could definitely avoid this by doing more core strengthening throughout the year.
  17. Just to close this thread off incase anyone else is ever looking to install a ZO in a Moomba Outback. After a phone call with @Jody_Seal last fall to walk through wiring (Thank you again). I was able to successfully get a 3.5" 3 event kit installed in my dashboard to replace the factory "Moomba Cruise" unit. I ordered the 3 Event ZO kit with the addition of the "Power Extension Kit" and "CANBUS 6-PIN Extension" cables. The ECM wiring diagram from Indmar was bang on and made it easy to find the CAN +/- cables. I used Lockitt Posi-Tap connectors (which I found amazing) to tie the CANBUS extension cable into the ECM Harness at the engine. It's been an amazing upgrade to the boat going from the factory cruise to a ZO... I think the best quote from my better half driving me for the first time with ZO: "that's all I have to do" 😃.
  18. After additional research and following the under the dash wiring, I can't locate any "plug-n-play" connectors in the Moomba wiring harness to connect the Zero Off head unit. For Indmar engines with EControl ECM's that don't have 'plug-n-play' connections the ZO installation instructions call for tapping into the CAN Hi (+) and CAN Low (-) wires. I reached out to Indmar who got back to me right away with the ECM wiring diagram and Pinout Details for the 80 PIN ECM connector. CAN 1- is J1-64 and CAN 1+ is J1-65. Any recommendations or learnings for tapping into the CAN + and - wires at the ECM connection? The boat also has a OEM "Moomba Cruise", which in 2012 is a speed based system. I'm guessing that it is connected into the CAN+ and CAN-. But I have not been able to track down an under dash wiring diagram for the boat (local dealer reached out to Skiers Choice for me, but no response yet). Any suggestions on how determine if there are CAN +/- wires going to the Moomba Cruise connection? Tx, Sean
  19. @swbca good suggestion with J-B Weld, the dark grey / black should blend better
  20. I found a good YouTube video while searching on how to repair a sidewall by Shuswap Ski and Board as well:
  21. Thx for the advice, tbh I was nervous about using a Dremel, using an exacto and then packing tape and clamps sounds much better.
