My daughter loves waterskiing and we were wondering what age kids start competing in slalom course events? For reference, she’s about to turn 9. Any recommendations on specific events/locations? We live in the West.

Looking for a slalom ski for our 8 and 10 year old can rock. My 8 year old girl is 60 pounds. She is very solid on a slalom ski. Can run a slalom course. My son is about 90 pounds. He can get up on one and is improving on his slalom skills. Any recommendations? I’ve heard a Radar TRA 65 is a good bet but looking for other options as well. My daughter has very small feet and wears a size 1 shoe. Thanks!!

The camp where she’s been learning to slalom sent a picture today and show she’s learning on a Radar TRA. So that’s in line with recommendations above. We live close to a center where they demo Goode skis and May demo their junior 63” ski, though it looks like a big jump up in price

My daughter is at a traditional camp in Maine right now - that’s where she is learning to ski. We got a couple letters recently - one where she was excited to get up on 1 and another where she was working on a course. So Much fun!

These suggestions are very helpful - thanks! My next question was on a decent boot because she’s a little kids size 13 - but someone had that same question :)
