  1. I have managed to get two Skis this year so far over here in the UK. need to un-winterise and re-winterise each time, so unless the conditions are great i haven't bothered. Not skiing well just trying to keep the muscle groups working. Haven't managed to run all 6 this year yet....... I did however buy myself a full face Oniell Ninja mask. Wow what a difference! Well worth it for cold weather skiing. It feels like it has been windy since December over here. Waiting on some of those cold but still mornings! Picture below of the new mask, Not my best look! Water 37 air 39
  2. We ski all the way through over here in the UK. Had a great set at the weekend, water in the 50's and the same outside. Our lake is small and shallow so really warms up in the summer but also drops quickly in the winter.
  3. Thanks for the reply, Hot is good for us and having spent the last few hours researching the whole thing looks to be exactly what we would want. Property market is a bit slow over here at the moment which could be a stumbling block as we would need to sell a couple of our properties. Could gators be an issue?
  4. This would be our dream property. How hard is it to buy something like this a relocate from the UK? Is US immigration a difficult process? What is that area of the country like? What are the weather seasons? Thanks
  5. Thanks everyone, picked up a 200 today with the 6.0. Ended up with an open bow, not my first choice but I’m sure it will do us. Must be an improvement over the old S&S.
  6. Hi all, I started running the course this year and have the bug..... We currently ski behind an 80's Stars and Stripes, I never expected to get into the sport as much as we have and now want to get a more modern boat. We have skied behind a few Ski Nautique 200's a 2013 and a 2012. I think that may be the way we go. However they have always had a closed bow, over here in the UK all the 200's for sale seem to have an open bow? Is there any difference in the performance of the wake between the two? Should i be looking at anything else? This boat will only ever be used for running up and down the course, we have other boats for other things. My girlfriend is skiing at 28mph and im at 30mph but were both looking to improve dramatically. It must have zero off and budget upto 70K ish. Something easy to drive in the course would be nice although she has become used to the stars and stripes so i guess anything modern will be better. I wouldn't be against a pro star either but there's not many of them over here? A few pre 2014 ones but from what ive heard the nautique is better at that age? Sorry for a what boat post! Any help appreciated.
  7. It’s had a lot of work done. How should it look?
  8. So today I picked up this boat to add to the the collection. 1981 SS a rare thing over here in the UK. Have always wanted one so made sense as my first actual Ski boat. Love how retro it is. Has had the stringers done already but obviously needs some tidying up and I will add perfect pass next week. Just hope I like the wake!! Mike
  9. Really appreciate all your input. Actually went down the course yesterday behind a friends Nautique 200, 4th time up on the ski, needless to say lots of work to be done on my skills! Managed to get three boys but probably need to take a step back and try to splash them all I guess. Also need to work on my fitness! I think I have decided I will either be buying an early 80’s Mastercraft or a post 2011 boat, depends what comes up for sale over winter. Thanks all
  10. Thanks for the replies, I really like the idea of owning an old boat, the one I have in mind is an 82 MC 190. I would want it to run the course well, wouldn’t need to be able to do anything else or be comfortable as I have that in my other boats. The lack of tracking fins is playing on my mind as well as the lack of power. The sensible option would be a mid 90’s pro star or Nautique but they don’t tick the retro cool aspect of an early 80’s ski boat
