  1. I went to the boat show 2 weeks ago and the Malibu rep did not comment on the ski boat but he did say they are seeing a big drop off in Wakeboarding. Surfing is so easy, you're close to the boat and the social media aspect is right on top of you, Grandma can watch the kid on Face Time. Interest is picking up in hydrofoil surfing since you do not need a big wake to propel it, the only problem now is the price of the boards which demand will fix.
  2. Well done man, I hope you get you're PB, just having the attitude to get back out there, you have already won. I am sure you are an inspiration to those around you.
  3. Interesting, yes, I am exclusively open water now skiing now. I thought being here in NC, where I can ski 6 months, slalom skiing would take off but as stated not the case. Thanks for sharing it is alive and well where you go.
  4. My perspective may be way off on a macro level, but locally for me it is pretty simple. I am 62 and every person I have talked to that tried skiing or used to ski (when young) now view slalom skiing for nutcases. They surf/wakeboard and can;t understand why anyone would want to go that fast or risk falling at a higher speed, etc. I can't get anyone who used to ski try it again and if they never have tried it they have no desire to. From kids to 50 year olds, I am sad to see this happen and even watching me, as an older guy ski still does nothing to peak their interest. I go to the Raleigh boat show every year and if I talk to a salesperson or attendee in any aspect of water sports and mention Slalom Skiing I may as well said I have not taken a bath in a month.

Andre that is awesome, when I retired I got back into skiing and looked for about a year for a 205 prostar, found a 500 hour one from a 78 guy who was the only owner, could not ski anymore. I get compliments on it every time we take someone out and have had it for 2 years and absolutely love it. Hope I get the same results out to 2000 hours!
  6. I'm going to try not to burn out the wife driving for me, I retired and am wanting to go out so much but the wife, who loves the water, has lost some interest in skiing so I have to make sure we have fun on the water mixed in with an acceptable amount of skiing for me. This may be a fun fact for some of you who have not experienced it, if you do well and stay in shape as you get older the issue is it is very difficult to find folks who want to play...:-), I can't even get older buddies out with "you pull me and I'll teach you to wake board or 2 ski", they don't want to do it. The younger guys all want to surf, they look at slalom skiing as too much work, etc., which it is compared to surfing. The moral of the story is the good wife is allowing me to fulfill my dreams, just have to make sure I don't ruin her participation.
  7. I do a lot of pull-ups and monkey bar movements, started to notice pain in my forearms/elbow, felt like the onset of tendinitis. Discovered that I never would stretch my forearm muscles, just jumped right into every workout. Now before I do anything at the gym I stretch those muscles by holding arms out and moving hands up/down and side to side to get the muscles and ligaments stretched out. Have not had a pain or issue since, I believe it is critical for that stretch before skiing too.
  8. I have a 1994 205 Prostar with a Monster Tower and the wife has decided we need a bimini top to get us out of the all day sun. I am looking for advice/directions where to purchase one and install it or get it installed somewhere. Thank you for the help and Merry Christmas - Gary
  9. Thank you guys for the information, very helpful.
  10. Does anyone know where I can find a Mastercraft boat decal, for the sides of the boat? Thank you - Gary
