  1. @Dockoelboto It was discussed in this thread: https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/comment/384921

    and I wrote this:

    Tip from Sweden;

    Kevlar liner, then long nitrile or vinyl gloves that goes under wetsuit/drysuit, then one size larger than normal amara gloves. The nitrile glove is good both for water and wind proofing. On top of that it helps with a smaller diameter handle than your normal size due to the bulkier hands.

  2. In tennis, "Battle of the Sexes" describes various exhibition matches played between a man and a woman, or a doubles match between two men and two women in one case. The term is most famously used for an internationally televised match in 1973 held at the Houston Astrodome between 55 year-old Bobby Riggs and 29 year-old Billie Jean King,[4] which King won in three sets.[2][5] The match was viewed by an estimated fifty million people in the United States and ninety million worldwide.[6] King's win is considered a milestone in public acceptance of women's tennis.

  3. @ghutch , Great thread, thanks for bumping it!! I see that I have a lot of mods to do on my front Reflex Supershell and rear R-Style setup...

    @adamhcaldwell , any new ideas on your setup you are willing to share? I guess 2 1/2 years since your last post might have given you loads of new ideas?

  4. @igkya I did get some info on the trim tab. The trim tab is the lowest "tooth" on the trailing edge. The almost verticle line is a detent on both sides of the fin that controls where that tooth will bend when adjusted. It can be seen on the picture in my post above. If you protect the trim tab with a cloth and bend it with pliers (or better yet, use a piece of wood with a slot cut into it), you can slightly bend this tab to make the ski roll easier in one direction than the other. If your 1/3/5 side is not as good as your 2/4 side, bending this tab slightly to the left will make turning easier at 1/3/5. Instructions will be posted on the website soon.

    Now on the web site;

    https://finwhispering.com/product/whisperfin-pro/

    "The choice between the original and pro versions of the WhisperFin isn’t so much about boat speed or line lengths as it is about skiing style. Here are some factors to consider:

    *Both fins benefit novice through expert skiers by making the ski easier to turn and accelerate.

    *Both fins benefit advanced skiers by making it easier to keep the tip down while exiting turns.

    *Regardless of line length or skill level, if you tend to approach the turn tip-high then rotate a

    lot of tip into the water to turn (think windshield wiper), the pro version is far more forgiving

    of this technique.

    *If you tend to blow the tail out of the water or to get a lot of tail slides when scrambling, go

    pro.

    *If your skiing inputs are smooth, progressive and controlled, the original WhisperFin can take

    you all the way.

    *And since the original rewards smooth skiing, starting a novice on the original WhisperFin

    helps build ideal technique by rewarding and reinforcing smooth balanced inputs.

    *The pro can always be mounted shallower in the ski to make it just as novice friendly as the

    original. But running the original deeper can’t replicate the benefits of the pro’s improved

    grip at high roll angles and extreme levels of smear.

    *The original is 1/3 cheaper while supplies last."

  6. @kurtis500, I have tried the OffCourse and the balls did not skip. It's gonna be great with the new function to set the course width @ErikBerghiller writes about above because that is the tricky part. Course width is very sensitive to a potential passengers position (has to be the same as when setting the width). Otherwise it's a great product and allows for course like skiing if you do not have access to a proper course where you ski. @jpwhit I also understand that there are plans for longer cartridge tubes so you can have 24 in each one instead of 12. That means the balls and the gas will match in longevity and you will be able to ski six passes without reloading anything. Those longer cartridges will not fit under a bimini top though and that's why it will be an option.
  7. Tip from Sweden;

    Kevlar liner, then long nitrile or vinyl gloves that goes under wetsuit/drysuit, then one size larger than normal amora gloves. The nitrile glove is good both for water and wind proofing. On top of that it helps with s smaller diameter handle than your normal size due to the bulkier hands.

  8. @jimski and @Cent Another tip from cold Sweden re hands. First kevlar liners, then nitrile or vinyl gloves (the kind used on hospitals), then you regular glove in next larger size. The nitrile or vinyl layer protects both against getting wet and wind chill, works wonders B) . If handle to thick with all the layers, go for next size smaller handle diameter also.
