  1. "... finance a boat for 20-30 years." Yeah, that sounds like a GREAT idea! Good grief!!
  2. Happy for her. Sad to see us lose 1/3 of our tow boat manufacturers. Or maybe Malibu is the new.team model?
  3. One thing I learned a few years back was to make every pass count. Despite having every intention of practicing with purpose sometimes you get in the boat with your buddies, get to gabbing while you put on your gear and jump in. Next thing you know you're in the course and skiing with no plan. Have a plan and execute it from the start. You may decide to change it on the fly, but have a plan. Mindless skiing is essentially worthless if your goal is to progress.
  4. I'm pretty sure I won't get enough water time this year so my goals are to hone technique. Primarily gates and handle control behind the boat.
  5. @Horton my first response to you in this thread was about not beating a dead horse. Pot meet kettle. You facilitated much of the thread after that. A good thing. As pertains to tournament skiing this is apparently still an important topic. I agree most of it is water under the bridge. I disagree the decisions made were the only options available. Banning discussion of such an important topic seems counter productive, but you are the Supreme Galactic ruler, so ...
  6. @Horton don't generaiise my comment like that. I was commenting specifically on why some members are really bothered by thie intrusion by government into a virtually invisible sport. No mention of politics. Agree more participation in governance is the way forward for those still participating. There are always alternatives.
  7. There are alot of people that don't like the government sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. This is a perfect example.of that. Seriously? No bigger problems to solve?
  8. @Horton Pretty sure that horse has already been beaten to death. Many alternatives were mentioned in previous threads. Whether viable or not depends on what you want the outcome to be. Does viable mean exactly what we have now? If so then the correct alternative was chosen.
  9. I hope they do well. I was thinking the market would be small with it really only applying to longboards. Looks like the entire skateboard market worldwide is $3.2 billion so hopefully a small peice of a big number is still a pretty big number.
  10. It would be great if we waterkiers had some organization to help sort things like this out. On second thought it's probably better we don't.
  11. Might be able to use a heat gun (or similar) to permanently open the top of the R-style a bit more to fit your foot better. I have no idea if this would.work but might be worth a try.
  12. Mapple 6.0, and not for lack of trying. Great ski though.
