  1. Totally agree with @ripa38 . The smaller rock will not stay in place. We used rocks in the 6" range, and we still need to tune them up every spring when the water is low. 1-2" rocks will just get washed away. We haven't had any more clifting since we installed the larger rock, many seasons ago.
  2. Great news @Brewski . I kept waiting to hear from you last winter, but figured you probably got sidetracked with work and life or something. I know quite a few people at our lake who would be interested. Let me know when you are ready to start selling again.
  3. @Deke Here is a picture of my gray Handle guard made by @Brewski and the red one is made from the flexible cutting boards you can find anywhere. You can either trace your old handle guard, or if you don't have it, just put tension on the handle rope, and trace the yolk. I leave about 2 to 2-1/2" of grab space, and never have any issues.

  4. The best guard is @Brewski noose eliminator. Unfortunately TW threatened him with a patent infringement lawsuit so they are not on the market any longer. From what i've heard, TW has not been filling orders. A good homemade version is to buy a cheap plastic roll up cutting board from Wallfart and cut it to fit. Don't ski without a guard. Not worth it!
  5. I went through a complete shoulder rebuild in 2010. Dislocated my shoulder so bad my arm was stuck sticking out at 90 degrees, and down where my armpit was. Complete rotaor cuff, labrum and bicep tendon tear. Think pulling off a turkey leg. After a 6 hour surgery and 9 months of intense rehab, that arm now feels like it did when I was 20. Not sure how my injury relates to a full replacement, but I think it would be similar. I'm still skiing, and my shoulder is not even an issue.
  6. @kirkbauer Another tip that might help is don't feel like you have to start with your ski pointing straight ahead at 12:00. That often leads to falling over on your wrong edge. If you are LFF, start in the water with your ski off to the left at about 11:00, 1:00 if you are RFF. That will help you balance. As the boat starts to pull you, your ski will automatically straighten out. Also, be sure to have the rope on the correct side of your ski. To the right for LFF, to the left for RFF.
  7. When getting ready and on the dock, get in the mindset you have on your home lake on a regular practice set. If on your practice set you are thinking about staying down through the 2nd wake, or staying connected out to the ball, or whatever, have the same thoughts when you go off the dock in nats. It will make it more familiar. Good luck and have fun!
