  1. I tried the ventral this weekend- I did not care for it. My ski and set up ,68"Elite regular wing upside down (-2 degrees 9 to 7) , and small ventral as drawn on the Goode website.

I was not able to get width and ended up skiing at the buoy and stabbing it . I ran 10-12 -28's .The ski was much more stable front to back but it took me off my balance point and I could not adjust (maybe move bindings back). I did not feel a lot of extra drag just much more tip engaguement.

    Any comments?

  2. I am changing from 1 handed gates back to 2 hand gates due to inconsistency. I need help, please tell me how you pull out and keep a tight line when its time to go. I cannot keep the line tight so I end up on my heel with speed and no angle. I get into trouble as the pressure from the rope comes from tthe side, I am trying to keep pressure outbound but...... crap!
  3. Andy Mapple ( smooth something?), Bob Lapoint(chairman of the board),Camille Duvall (legs), Kris Lapoint (baby face), Geoff Carrington (machine gun). Thats as close as I can get.
  4. I just changed from an old style Fluid Motion front and Wiley rear to T-Factor front and Wiley rear. I have had one set on the T-Factor and it feels good, there does seem to be a difference in the balance point compared to the FM hardshell. I expected this and will either adapt or move my binding.                                                                     If my rear hip gets sore again this year I may go back to a RTP. The hip pain came with the rear binding.
  5.   Does anyone know when the t factors will be available?  What do people who have had the opportunity to try them think?

I am thinking about changing to them.  I have been using an old style FM front boot with a Wileys backfor 5years.

The release is not as reliable as it was; time to change.

  6. I saw that happen at the Holly Lake Slalom Fest lots of years ago.  The skier popped the handle , the handle lassoed the shift lever and pulled it into reverse. The boat went under water . No one was hurt, the driver was sitting in his seat (like the movie) with a surprised look on his face.
  7.    I am getting frustrated, I have been skiing a 68.5 Elite for 3 months and am skiing beautiful passes through 32 off.

When I get to 35 the ski does not feel free; won't get width and feels fast into the ball. My settings are 2.510 , 6.855, .797, and bindings @ 30". (measurements using tips and thumb method-dft) I have not tried any other settings. I was thinking of trying Andy's settings (2.510,6.837, .785) or maybe just taking out tip. I haven't seen much on the 68.5 settings, what do you guys think?

  8. I have not tried Schnitz,s fins. I would like to try the speed fin but to use this fin you have to file the Elite fin slot to accept the thicker Schnitz fin.  The Obrien fin is .079, Schnitz is .087 thick. The fin clamp is no problem, you can just loosen the screws that hold the clamp down and the fin will go in, however the fin will not go through the slot in the ski. I don't want to file on my ski.
  9.   Tried the wing up ,down, and   no wing; very suprising results. Wing down the regular way 9 degrees, I felt a lot of drag and a lot of tip bit. No wing felt a little faster but the ski bounced out of the turn if you you did not make a  perfect turn carrying a lot of speed. The turns were balanced and smooth. Wing up 9 degrees, surprised me in that the ski turned very balanced and stable like no wing but there was no bounce when the turn was not perfect. Drag was less than wing down.  The Elite seemed to get good width all three ways.

Think I will go from no wing to wing up and try it for a while.
