I love the orange also. Our first inboard when I was a kid was a 16" CC Skier in Orange and I have had a soft spot for the color ever since.
-
@jercrane I likely won’t be at either of those but they will be a blast.
-
@jercrane are you going to Oakham this weekend? I am not skiing but will be there on Sunday to hang out and catch up with friends. Let me know if you are there and I will make sure to say hello and I can talk to your daughter about the way the site sets up.
-
Did you change bindings? The Butterknife should be easier than the Siege. If you have different bindings it could make a difference.
-
@bojans who really cares it is a practice pass. I like to watch the skiing not obsess over the gates.
-
That looks like a beautiful site.

That looked way too easy unbelievable skiing. My son got to ride in the boat to watch him ski at LaPoint Ski Park probably 7 years ago. Kris Lapoint was in the boat helping with fin settings. It was a pretty cool experience for my son. He got Will to sign his ski as well. Will was super nice to him.

@Stevie Boy I don't recall what level you ski at but maybe something a bit more forgiving might be better for you. Back when everyone was crushing it on the Nano 1 I got one and couldn't make it work. It was the first ski I really struggled on. I went back to the Goode Mid I had been on and everything got better.
Generally I agree it is the indian not the arrow but sometimes one ski fits our flaws better than another.

I agree with Bruce. When my kids were that size they were skiing at 19 or 21 mph. Definitely slow her down and get her through a few passes.
The skiers in the east are super welcoming. I have skied Dubes and Wolfeboro and they are both great sites. @jcamp is a great guy and since he will have a couple of daughters at the VT tournament going there would guarantee some girls to ski with.
-
I have a practice PB and a tournament PB. I do differentiate them though.
-
It drives a little better than a Response LX with better wakes and ZO. They are nice boats for slalom.

It does look a little like he is aiming for the next buoy. See if you can get him thinking about getting there well before the buoy and backside it. I have drawn it out for kids in the sand or on a piece of paper to explain the concept. The kids have a hard time when talking about 20 feet or a boat length.

When my son was just starting he was using a wakeboard helmet. Whitewater kayaking helmets would work. I have seen full face BMX helmets used as well. Performance doesn't have anything on their website. Bennets sells the Shred Ready helmets in their jump section.
Many of the higher end jumpers use sky diving helmets. My son has one of those as the Shred Ready helmets didn't fit his melon. They tend to be pricier.

I may have some small bindings I could send to you. I will be home tomorrow and can look in my basement. I would send them for the cost of shipping. My kids are 20 and 21 and have obviously outgrown them.

@owennibley can you share a little of the video you get?
-
Might be 150 feet and about 2 minutes to the course.

Those family of skis across the manufacturers are great. Not stealing the freeride buzz but I have a similar family of ski from another manufacturer and it is a lot of fun. It is easy to get up on and ski on. I run the course at 30 mph on it a bunch and have a lot of fun on it.
I am thinking about speeding the boat up and getting back on my old ski (66" Goode Mid) and it has me thinking if something like an Omni or a Senate would be better for me now.
-
I would say stick with the Senate shape for now. Unless you are trying to get to 36 mph without seeing you ski I don't think there is a big benefit to going Vapor.
-
I agree that the TRA might be a little small given that your daughter may grow (although at 15 she could be done but might fill out a little). I think the TRA is based on the Senate/Lyric shape but I am not sure how the constructions compare. In a similar construction either ski would likely work equally well.

It might be kind of cool if you have a private lake and don’t want a lift. I wonder how firm and even the ground needs to be. We have a spot on our lake that we could launch in a pinch but the lake bed is soft. It makes using a truck and issue.
-
I am gullible but it was still way better skiing than I am capable of.
-
Unreal skiing.

@gsm_peter I would think anyone that isn’t doing flips or ski lines could be a candidate for the 54” ski. I would be interested in trying one but don’t think I want to spend the money to find out. I do have a 45” D3 and it is much easier than my son’s 43” ski.
-
That is a killer deal on that boat. Congratulations.
