@Stevie Boy just put an RFF CG fin in my cart no problem there, might just pull the trigger on it, couldn't buy an RFF Classic though.

I have one that lives under my shed with another couple of old skis.

 

 

My favourite Prostar shape, was like a sports car compared to the Nautiques of that era.

 

 

The official reason for why the scores were excluded from the international list is that the end course cameras were not set up within spec.

Nothing has changed then since JB's world record at the Malibu in France was disallowed for the same-ish reason and the French/Europeans were lambasted for it, just sayin >:)

@Stevie Boy @dbutcher from my perspective you are both talking about the same thing using different words, I moved to 32mph 4 years ago and to be honest I struggled at first, I now practice at 30mph and my take on it is not to get pulled to the inside off the 2nd wake and there are many ways to describe this which can cause a lot of confusion, my key is to hold my leading shoulder in the same place off the 2nd wake not give it more but not let up if I do it right the edge change happens and obviously maintain/carry the handle out to the buoy line, it works for me.

Bearing in mind that @Stevie Boy and myself are nowhere near the level of @dbutcher :)

Around 4 years ago I was in England at a ski lake and met with a guy who is a farmer and he told me a story about the Ross family.

We were talking about skiing (obviously) and BOS and he said he had to go on a training course in America so he posted a message on BOS asking if there were any ski sites in the area he was going to, straight away he got a reply from the Ross family saying to visit them and he would be looked after.

He told me that he had been treated like a long lost brother and couldn’t believe their hospitality to a total stranger but a skier and this is what I have also found if not to this extent in most of the skiing community.

His final comment was “they are all BIG and could rip a ski pole out of a boat”

Before you do anything I would change that ski pole, apart from looking home made that is some amount of hardware to take your face out if that weld fails :#

 

 

Had a couple of sets this week air 50F water a bit colder, not cold enough for mid set hot water yet, ran 48 of 48 buoys yesterday slack speeds but still fun :)

Didn't win anything never mind ski, but got a certain satisfaction from it :)

In 20 years of use I have had 4 pre releases, 2 when the legs broke on 404's, 1 when a spring broke on a 750 and one due to wear and tear on a 750.

They all hurt but luckily had no serious injuries

Sticking with Reflex but going to check the release more often.

Having tried and liked the T-Factor I was thinking about changing to it from a Reflex after a handful of pre-releases over the years (they hurt), but this thread has got me thinking now as the reason I changed to a hardshell was because I tore up my ankle when I didn't come fully out of an Animal binding.

Loch Lomond in Scotland has stunning scenery, 22 miles long with half in the Highlands and half in the lowlands and islands dotted around the south end, great place for family boating.

I learned to ski there as did my wife and kids, still try to have a set there once a year.
