  1. For what it is worth: I've been on a 2012 S2 - thank you Adrenaline Watersports - for two years. If you can be saved from otf crashes by a magic ski I think this is the one. Just when its a done deal, and I mean past the point of no return, this ski has somehow popped loose from the stall a dozen times for me. I believe it is the safest ski I have been on and haven't been interested in trying anything else. Now I am wondering if the "speed skin" will enhance that characteristic. Skiing is an expensive way to stay in shape!
  2. For a different perspective; when i was introduced to course skiing at age 50 it was instant passion for buoys. I got through -35 a handful of times and was having more fun than should be allowed when i learned that old men ski 34mph and my 30 mph skiing didn't mean much. I collected some injuries stepping up to 34 and had to learn some important lessons to ski higher speeds - hard to hurt yourself crashing at 30mph, easy at 34! I sometimes wonder if slow speed n short lines is the most fun and safest way for me to ski. Guess it depends on what your goals n age are. I do think cutting rope at slow speed was so much fun n low risk that it was a good for my learning curve, commitment to skiing and to staying fit.

  3. Know there are a few in the NW that knew Jim Axe. He invited me to his lake for my first attempt at buoys - didn't make me feel bad for leaving muddy prints in the back of his first-time-in-the-water Malibu either. Seemed to be always hard at work on something, generous and very focused on his family - world needs more like that! Thanks Jim.

  4. Skied this 21' Vector/200Merc the first summer of course skiing. Solid tracking at our level and no wake to notice plus a fun cruise back to the lift at 70+mph. Bought a 91 Prostar the next spring and had to learn the course all over - thought it had a huge wake.
  5. footloose42 I second the better slalom boat advice. Some years ago i was highly motivated and ran some passes behind my friends Wakesetter. I thought it was all good but that attitude has cost me a LOT of down time due to injuries. Safe skiing is the best skiing - if you are course skiing I think you really want a tow built for course skiing. We are blessed to be able to ski - better take care of the "equipment" we have been given to ski with!
  6. It is inspirational to see what a motivated man can accomplish. I remember some "wins" from before someone told me I was supposed to be skiing 34mph. The skibuddy who introduced me to the course had a vdrive Malibu and as we went to ski one morning I bragged about finally running 32 off two times. He said "show me". So with his family in the boat and the camera rolling I was motivated and actually pulled off my third -32 pass. Slow pass, big wake, no form but I still enjoy that memory! Thanks for the inspiration markchilcutt, I'm determined to hang on until a legit -32 falls by the end of this summer!
