The WR has not changed but competition has gotten better -- I think that's a win.

Kids that can run -28 have no problems advancing to the next speed increment. I would stay at a speed until you can run -28 consistently.

@Keith_Menard Yep could be but we had a direct hit last week with some damage (not the boat) and I’m glad I had named storm coverage.

Ski Safe now excludes named storm had to switch now with Progressive.

@6balls - yep they’re pricey new but still less then 1/2 the cost of jumpers. Our jumpers are too long to use for new skiers.

@6balls - Lake Elmo Sports has them new, show ski teams may have some used.

I think the least expensive way for you to effectively train for tournaments is a ZO CC 196 or ZO Centurion Carbon Pro. Proper speed control and great slower speed wakes.

Purpose of the hydrogate/tunnel was to improve trick on a great slalom hull. The prop didn’t change.

Hydrogate is an elegant way of adding hook to the tunnel.

@6balls - the tournament officials can’t control the heat and humidity they can control the gas that goes in the boat.

It really doesn’t matter what the fuel related power loss between different grades is. If the computer derates hp by 10% the 400 hp boat you practice behind becomes a 360 hp boat in a tournament e.g different. If you’re paying $100+ for a tournament set you should get as close as possible to the 400 hp practice boat the conditions allow.

On my 96 351 changing the coil wire solved a lot of issues. That plus the list of tune up items above, filters and sea foam worked better then chasing fuel delivery for me. Rebuilt the carb when it wouldn’t hold idle speed even when warm.

Recently well priced [for the current market] homes do not last until the weekend and sell at asking or above to people with no contingencies. In the last few months prices have gone up dramatically.

@klindy - the athlete is still listed as a board member on the AWSA Governance section of the website.

@Geppetto - I guess suggestions as to how to prevent this from happening again aren't what you are after.

I think if you want to get more volunteers for athlete board member positions the USOC requirement for Athletes as Board Members should be adopted in its broadest form (athletes who are actively engaged in amateur athletic competition) rather than the "Elite Athlete" requirements of the USAWSWS bylaws. The "elite athlete" definition is far to restrictive.

Athletes are key stakeholders to the NGB. The Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act requires that at least twenty percent of an NGB’s board is comprised of athletes who are actively engaged in amateur athletic competition or who have represented the United States in an international amateur athletic competition in within the preceding ten (10) years."

I read "shall be restricted to multi-port fuel injected boats with inboard engines, silent muffler equipment and American Water Ski Association ("AWSA") approved tow boats" to include both fuel injected boats . . . AND AWSA approved towboats.
