  1. I’ll move my gate pull out slightly forward or back but that is just to give me some piece of mind.

I really just focus on mechanics. In a tail wind I really try to stay connected as I stand up. I try not to “separate the pull, from the standup.” It’s all one motion. This keeps me connected. I also make sure I continue to move out in a tail wind and not run “parallel” with the boat too long.

Hi - small chance I might take a new job that would be in Austin, what would the commute time during rush hour be from this location?

    thanks JMO

Times will vary depending on where in Austin, but to the center of Austin, I would say 40-45min during rush hour.

There are ways around, the scenic route through the hill country or the 130 Toll that’s 85mph and runs all the way north of Austin

  4. After really enjoying my 24 vapor I recommend my friend get a 24 Senate Pro. He’s previous skis were a 21 and 19 senate pro and vapors before that. He lives on a public lake but in his prime ran 15 and 22 off at 34mph. His first set was this morning and he called saying, “this ski just wants to go”! He wasn’t ready for the ski to carve back so quick. He loved how stable it was compared to his last few skis. He said this is the first Senate that feels “like a vapor”.

  5. I’ve had about 10 sets on the ski and ran a 38 on my second set and again this past weekend. From my previous post- I didn’t run any last year on my 23 but ran a bunch on my 22. Off to a great start and  I think this ski compliments me. I like the front to back stability and the ski comes through a little more and quicker for me than previous versions.

  6. I took my second set Sunday morning. I was excited to get back on it. Ran back to back -32s and -35s and wanted to try a 38 home…. Ran the -38! I haven’t come close to running a 38 for a little over a year now. My onside seems to be a bit cleaner and the offside is better for me. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have come out of my offside as good as I did at 38 on the last ski. Got the whole set on video so I could show all my friends, lol. Pretty psyched!

  7. I had my first set on the 24 vapor yesterday. I ran back to backs (28s, 32s, 35s) at 34mph. I turned one ball and said, “omg, wow!” As I went I 2. There’s not much movement you have to make to engage the sharper bevels. And once you do the ski just draws back towards center quickly. Cross course seemed maybe a bit faster or less effort than my 22 and 23. I’m in the L/S fin settings. Taking my 2nd set this morning. If all goes well, I’ll see what I can do at -38.

  8. It will be extremely hard to find rear seats I think. I’ve only seen 1 set of rear seats for sale since 2014. I think you’d be better off making the 2021 and newer seats work. They are cheaper than the 2014-2020 seats with the aluminum frame. Mounting is different, but I think it’s better. The seats may be a bit smaller, as the cup holders take up some room now in the new boat. Not a big deal, just more room for the walk through.

  9. For me, the slump starts to build as I try to run my hardest pass “smoother” which turns into me just being too slow and not high enough. I focus on gate height and speed and that usually brings me back.

I know others ride different skis, change settings slightly, just to feel something different. I think this works but only for the honeymoon.

  10. The 20-21 had the same rocker, shape etc. and a deeper tunnel than previous skis. The 21 added the new bottom and tip/tail piece. The 21 is a great ski, I ran a lot of my hardest passes on it. I notice the added grip with no extra effort. The ski rotated through the turn better than previous years. When you got over the front with your shoulders it wouldn’t bite on you and shut down but it would lose angle. I had a hard time moving on from this ski.

The 22 has an even deeper tunnel that gives the ski more grip. I think the 22 ski is overall an easier to ski ride. I think it grabs angle easier and turns from more positions on the ski. Getting over the front to far, the ski seems to shut down but holds angle so you still have a chance to make the next buoy. The ski stays under me better out to the ball and back to the wakes. Would I go back to the 21? Nope. The 22 is an easier ski to ride and has given me more consistent scores.

  11. I’ve had a good amount of sets on mine and absolutely love them. The biggest thing I notice is how well the boot tightens around my foot. The last boot I thought hugged my foot well until I skied with this boot. It seems to clamp completely around my foot giving me a lot of control. I have the rear bolt out as well, so the cuff can articulate still, love that feature!
  12. I moved to M3 this fall and been having great success with the stock settings. Previously I had been running 35s/36mph 50% of the time and 38 only once. With the new ski and dropping to 35.2mph in practice. I’m running 35s pretty easily and probably 15 38s under my belt. The new ski comes under the line so much easier from multiple spots on the ski and has plenty of stability and grip.
