  1. I bulk up easy so when I do P90x I do lighter weights and more reps. I am also currently rehabbing my right arm from bicep tendonitis. At first it appeared to be a torn rotator, but after resting for two weeks before seeing my doctor it healed up quite a bit and he said it was tendonitis. Going lighter on the weights until it is 100%. I would say it is at 97%. I can do most of the Yoga X now. Insanity is the better program for my body type. I am built more like a football player than a skier. P90x is better for people who are really thin and need to put on some mass. Insanity is best for cardiovascular workouts.

  3. Trophy Lakes Estates III, Great place to ski. I was there for the 2012 and 2013 Midwest regionals. There are so many lakes in Minnesota all you need is a portable slalom course and you can ski just about anywhere. If a lake gets busy, pack up and go to another lake..

  5. If you get a blister, put a band aid over it, then cover the band aid with duct tape, then put your gloves on. Use enough tape to cover the whole part of your hand. When I go to ski school I tape up the palms of my hands, and the side of my pinky fingers which rub up against the sides of the handle so I won't get blisters. There is lime in the water in most lakes in Florida when compared to the north. Tape and bandage fresh before every set. Always remove your gloves in between sets to let your hands dry.

  7. I am currently doing the P90x and Insanity hybrid schedule which I will do for Nov,Dec, and Jan. For Feb, Mar, and Apr I will be doing Insanity. If I am feeling strong enough by April I may try Insanity the Asylum Volume 1. Minimal equipment needed. Better than any workout at the gym, especially Insanity..
  8. The Malibu Response Txi is the only boat approved for boat 3 event and barefoot tournaments. I have been told the Malibu is the best one to trick behind. I can't say since I have never been behind one trick skiing, nor the Carbon Pro.
  9. If you are leaving the boat out in the cold, just drain the block and the manifolds if it is going to sit until you winterize it. If it looks like cold weather is coming in the spring and fall I will drain the block and the manifolds before leaving the lake for the week while the boat is still in service. If it is on a lift or trailer I have heard of some people putting a trouble light in the engine compartment to keep it warm.
  10. I have the 351block on my 94 Nautique. I drain the block and the manifolds. I draw the RV antifreeze out of a bucket. I use about 3 gallons. I disconnect the hose at the base of the transmission cooler and fill the engine while I am fogging it. The antifreeze is mainly for corrosion protection. If I was a snowbird I would do the same with my boat in the south if I left it storage while up north.
  11. I checked my boat's maintenance log book. I changed out the original at 900 hours. I am going to have it replaced. I just hit the 1800 hour mark before putting it away for the winter. I am going to have it changed out. I don't want to damage the steering head.
  12. Toward the end of the year I notice my boat's steering was getting stiff in the cold. I now have it in the garage. I greased the rudder and hit helped a bit, but I still notice it sticks in a few places. I replaced one at 900 hours. At the time the boat drove like a dump truck. I have 1800 hours on it now. This one only stiffens up in the cold. When it is warm outside it was not an issue. If I were to venture a guess I am thinking the cable is starting to go. I have never tried replacing one myself. Anyone have any idea on what the lifespan of the steering head would be?
  13. I did the Insanity workout last winter with some P90x(lean schedule). This summer was the best I ever skied, but I only had one good tournament. I set a new PB in tricks of 1730 points, and tied my PB in slalom 2@35off. In practice I got into 35off just about every time in practice cold off the dock. In practice I set a new PB in slalom of 5 1/2@35off. I got to the exit gate, but threw the handle because there was more slack in the rope I could hang on to. Did not want to risk injury. If you do any of the beachbody workouts you have to follow the nutrition plan otherwise your body will not recover in between, especially if you are older like me(age 46).
