  1. Based on my experience, I would use a stainless mainline and 2" pvc. I purchased my a stainless mainline from EZ Slalom and make my own PVC sections out of 2" material. I do not leave it up year round but I have used it for 10 seasons now. Happy to answer any questions should you have any. Good luck!
  2. I got some rubber strap material, very similar to that used in bindings. It's about 1.5" wide and 1/8" thick or so. I attached it to the plate using the same screws and plastic pieces that are used to attached the binding rubber to the plate. I can probably get a photo for you tomorrow if that would help.
  3. @Deke Thank you very much for your feedback. Your situation is very similar to mine in the fact that you play hockey and waterski. Those are my primary 2 activities and timing recovery of the surgery would play a role when I schedule. About 10 years ago I had a "preventative" surgery on my left hip to slow down the degradation, as I have the same condition with both hips. I must say that the left hip is doing very well and does not bother me. My right hip though is progressing just as the doctor predicted, that I would have a replacement before I am 50. Unfortunately I waited too long to move forward with the preventative process on my left hip, rendering it to a point where it was not salvageable.

Thank you to everyone for their contributions. It is nice to hear that there should still be waterskiing after hip replacement!

  4. I used to use Powershells with Dual-Lock. For a couple of reasons I am not really a fan of that system. First would be that it is more difficult to place the binding back in the "correct" position after a release. Second, I had issues with the binding releasing in situations when it had not business doing so. I can tell you that it made for some spectacular crashes that we still talk about today! I have been on a Reflex system for over 5 years now and I am very satisfied with it. In my experience it releases when it should and it has worked very well for me.
  5. Hey Ballers, looking for a little advice from the community. Briefly, my situation is like this. 45 years old, avid slalom skier living in the Northeast and doing a little tricking for fun once in a while. Skiing into 38 and just starting to get through it once in a while. Without a doubt I will need to have a hip replacement before I am 50 years old, realistically I am probably ready for it now but just trying to hold it off as long as I can. Does anyone have any experience with skiing slalom after a hip replacement? If so, I would love to learn of your experiences. Thanks in advance.
  6. I recently skied behind a 200 and then a 2014 Prostar in the same day. While the wake on the 200 is not big, I did not like it at all. I found that the water was too "turbulent" on the 200 and quite a bit "harder" in the prop wash. I suspect that it is because of the RMP's that they are turning the 200 at. Granted, I am not the smoothest skier around and I suspect that I could adjust to 200. However, given the option I would always ski behind a Prostar or a TXi before a 200. Obviously, this is only my personal experience, but for this amateur skier that gets into -38, I am not a fan at this point. As previous people mentioned, the best way is to ski behind it.
  7. Masterline is supposed to be coming out with a curved end style handle similar to the US Gear style. I have not seen any photos but I have spoken with them a couple of times about it. They should be in testing at this time and according to my last conversation with them, availability could possibly be later May.
