  1. Thanks for all the input. It seems that people's experience is either No problems or total fail. Like I said this is pair number 3. Is the Pulse comparable? What will I be giving up in performance if anything? I went to a 11 in the Carbitex somewhat to give me more room side to side for my foot width. I read on another post that the Pulse is a bit wider. @brooks ? Don't think any shops in Austin have any to try on for size.
  2. Thanks for all the comments. Like I said this is my 3rd pair and they have all fallen apart at the same exact areas. I actually wear a 10, but use a 11 just because they feel better on the width. And for safety I never clinch them tight. Dislocated knee, 10 years ago. I really try to be gentle with them, but it sure looks like its a common issue for most. I'm embarrassed to post a pic of them now, but I am still using them, hopefully last the rest of the season. Just seems for 650 bucks a pair they should last longer.
  3. Just curious how long people are getting out of these boots? I love them and this is my 2-3rd pair but after 2 seasons of average use I need to start zip tying them together around the back side where the rubber meets the material. I always remove the liners and kept indoors during the off season. What is your experience with these? Any suggestions? Really concerned with safety.
  4. I agree with @theboardingschool. I live on a private lake, skiing is very important to me, but so is enjoying myself. We have numerous events here at our lake. C's and some records. We have hosted Collegiate Nationals as well. A couple neighbors always bug me to sign up and ski the event's. I have absolutely no desire. I go and check things out on event days and for the most part, it's like watching paint dry. A few people look like they are having fun, and are joking around. A lot of folks I talk to are bummed as they are so busy judging, driving ect. that when it's their turn, they don't ski well, they are tired. The idea of waiting all day to ski 3 rounds does not appeal to me at all. I think some folks have to understand that our sport is never going to be huge. Always will be a small specialized sport which is fine with me. I will say though that the B, B and B event above sounds fun, and the BOS Cash prize events we're definitely more entertaining. And I enjoy when watching the pro's compete.
  5. My wife informed me that my heater shirt is looking ratchet so I need a new one!! Nice. Any recommendation's? Good for water in the mid 60's and up. Looking at the O'neill Hyperfreak 05 mil and a Hyperflex 50-50. Hyperflex has a neoprene body and different material on the sleeves. Stokes looks nice but $150.00?
  6. My wife started on the Radar P6 and is now on the Lyric as well. Definitely buy what she want's and make sure it fit's correctly. Bonus for me, my wife has become a great driver on our private lake which was very intimidating for her at first. Patience and only a few tips each outing worked perfect and as we all know, it is not a easy task.
