  1. Grateful to everyone that came out and was good to see everyone. The format is fun and this group is simply a pleasure to host an event for. I'm sure I speak for all of Aquaplex saying you are always welcome back.

Thanks to all our Aquaplex owners for helping and supporting this event.

One more point. I had only heard stories of Chad's spray. None of them do it true justice. It was truly impressive. Plus his point that it would be cool if boat crew had little Debbie's cakes on the end for the skiers while they wait between passes was a good one and I will see what I can do for next year.

  2. @horton Now I really better try to ski some this week. I'm feeling pressure with the mention above. I will get some practice at the Shortline event on Sat and Sun. @Superchicken is trying to get ready. Been down since her podium at the Canadian Open sick and had to skip both Nationals and Malibu. I asked if we were coming and she said, "BOS Intergalactic Champions don't miss these events. It's in Horton's bylaws." Plus she heard Buford Danger was going to be there.
  3. JT been pounding this for quite awhile without any failures. Not sure I would worry about the quality of the end product too much. Can't get a guy who will put it through the paces anymore then him and be straight with people about the result. The toe strap seems to be an improvement to the reflex bar in my opinion. Spreads the load evenly over more area instead of just three small contact points, which over time wear and stress the shell. I have thrown out two of them in the past due to cracking in the front.
  4. SCR regionals is short one more this year because I have to catch a flight out of Baton Rouge back to SA Saturday and my group skis so late I don't think I can make it. Not really skiing, but still hate to miss it. Having a job sucks. If this keeps up next year I will have to ski the EU championships. If the event survives BREXIT that is.
  5. I'm in shock these events aren't all filled up. I'm not sweating the stop in Austin as we have months to go it will fill. We are going to make Saturday a record like we did last year so that helps with rankings scores if that's what your worried about. That being said, to get a chance to ski events at awesome sites like Hilltop or Bell Aqua would be crazy to miss. Get your entries in. I can't go due to being about 12,000 miles away on Hilltop's dates for work. I'm hitting Bell Aqua and the one at home. Way too much fun miss. I'm not even skiing but a few sets a month and still think it's worth it. Get lined up Ballers. @horton stuck it out there since people were asking for this. Show the love!
  6. @horton I heard the butt tattoo was a pair of 22's with a plus sign in the middle. Covers both British drivers that way. @FWinter wouldn't leave JB out. That's all vicious rumor by the way(the best kind) and has no proof behind it. No matter how you slice it Alonso not getting it done. Unfortunately, the lack of power he suffers from now is due to his inability to stay in the right place at the right time. Hard for me to say as Mclaren F1 was a client in the late 90's and early 2000's so I like to see them do well.

Back to the MC. Please don't buy it. The last thing I want is for this group to start talking about big scores on their new MC's. I want to start skiing again and would hate if any of you made it tougher to move back up the list. Plus, every time I get on the forum lately I'm reminded of that old Thomas Dolby song and smile a bit. That's way better than hearing about your new pb's.

  7. You guys will all get to see it on I think on FOXTEL and Livestream I think when the editing is done. The entire finals are being shaped into a TV show for the event. We were thrilled that Latrobe City held the event and are extremely thankful they have made a 5 year commitment. We will definitely be back. I'm sure it will get better in the future as far as information goes. I guess I should of been sending out updates during the event. Had plenty of time in the judges tower between skiers to do it, but was listening to the F1 race live during that time so all of you were forgotten on this one. Congrats to @FWinter I almost launched off the scaffolding when he turned 3 ball. Nice job man. By the way, did you get your Master's invite yet or is still some guy named Freddy going in your place?

Many of the same group who run the Moomba event helped put this together and were onsite working their butts off. Great attitudes, all about the skiers and building the sport. Maybe we should be taking notes. How do they get small towns to put up cash prizes for 5 years and we can hardly pull together pro event in the USA? I can certainly forgive them for not getting scores out after volunteering at ski events for two straight weeks and look at the positive things they are getting done.

  8. @mattp she didn't have a bad day here but clearly wanted more. Turned in too quick at 4 buoy and caught it on the way back by. Stopped so hard bent the mikro-just. Plate didn't move though. Testament to the product. Get after it again tomorrow. Alejandra skied really well so congrats to her.
  9. @Laz I ski at skiworld when I'm in Johannesburg and Satellite Dam when in Durban with some friends. @ski.tyron being one of them. Best site in the country.

Only have ever skied in Cape Town with the Viljoen's but their site is 90 min outside of CT and they aren't there often. Heard it may if even been sold.

If your in Joburg it's easy. Don Shead at Skiworld Nautique will get you going. I tried calling Mofam one time to go out there and they didn't act interested. I figured if that was the case I didn't need to head out there to see them ever and waste my time. @Superchicken will be training at Skiworld all of Feb getting ready for Australia. Let me know if you need any help getting a ride.

  10. @ShaneH Could possibly get to 30" with one of the older reflex plates that you could move everything forward. The new one only has one set of holes for the rear mounts. I may have one lying around you could try.
  11. @h2oSkiJunkie awesome skiing man. Proud of ya. I said to @superchicken Corey is now officially a bad ass with that score. She disagreed saying you already were because she thinks you look like Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam. Chick skiers always surprise me. Never know what the response is going to be. Congrats man.

By the way, agree with your points above. Better say that so I don't get a bunch of flags for being off topic. (Not that I care)

  12. @skijay when I get home I will measure DFT with my calipers the standard way so we can get a comparison. There is usually a difference anywhere between .010 to .030 so yeah your in-line with what I have seen. It just depends on the shape of the tail and have found on about every ski model that delta is different. I think if you try the even longer fin (6.96) with it moved back to .770 (so with your caliper that would be .740 I think) you will like it even more. Those numbers seem to be working well for all sizes with only the DFT changing. For example @superchicken rides the 66" at that length and depth with the tail at .754 and the 65" with the DFT at .744. By the way, the 65" is crazy good. Lots of little guys and ladies will be crushing on it next year. You should test a 66" no matter what the chart says and think you would like it even more.
