  1. This is Great News...I truly believe this is exactly what Dave would have wanted. I hope this Tradition and His Company continue for many years to come.

No matter what ski you are on now, we all owe Dave a debt of gratitude for being the first to raise the bar in technology advancement with the first Carbon Fiber Ski. We have all greatly benefited from that.

I am sure Dave is smiling down and probably figuring out a way to have the first Slalom Course in heaven...After all, how could it be Heaven without one !!!

  2. Having spent most of my life driving Race cars from Go Karts as a kid, to Sports Cars, Formula Cars, and even Indy Cars, the most glaring correlation is setting up the turn so as to ACCELERATE off of the Apex....The advantage in Slalom, is you have the same turn 6 times in a row. Yet, for a lot of us, myself included, it is still hard to get that right.

Also, the Race Car, especially Formula Cars, are just like Slalom Skis, in that they are BOTH extremely dependent on proper set-up. Done incorrectly, they both can become dangerous and unforgiving.

They also share the commonality that high speed crashes are scary as hell, and injuries seem to be all to common...Yet, for those of us that Love both these sports, we deem this as acceptable risk, a trait that sets us apart from many others.

I myself thank God I have had the opportunity to participate in both, and share this experience with some of the greatest people I have known.

  3. Back around early 90's, I had a ski course on the Wailua River in Kauai. One day in Feb. this guy shows up from Michigan with a bunch of black blank skis with these hard shell roller blade boots. Said he made Carbon Ski poles for a living and built these new skis out of Carbon Fiber and wanted to test them. Said his name was Dave Goode Little did we know that this would be the birth of Goode Skis and the 9100. The skis performed great, and 3 of us ended up with one. First ski I ever got into 38off.

RIP Dave, you will be missed but never forgotten !!!

  4. @aspski ... I use Micro-Just on both the front and rear for a very simple reason. The holes in the plate are to far apart and 1/4" adjustments are huge. It's not that your looking to just make a 1/20th inch adjust, but to fine tune the distance between the big factory hole adjustment. Works great !!!

  5. That is exactly what we used for our permanent certified course on our Lake in Orlando. Bought a whole package of those boxes from Skier to Skier. They worked great because we could pre-position all the anchors around while surveying each buoy, then once they were perfectly set, drive rebar through the PVC Sleeves.

  6. @Jetsetr... Les Shockley let me drive his jet dragster at one of our Airshows and it got to 250 pretty quickly and so smooth. The problem was, at that point, it was accelerating better than ever, unlike a regular dragster that the engine is finished at that point. With the jet, your grinning from ear to ear and you just want to keep going. The hardest thing is to shut it down. That thing would have gone till it disintegrated itself in no time. What a ride !!!

  7. @jayski...The weight range for the sizes seems to be pretty accurate. I am guessing there is about a 1/8th difference in width between sizes. My Large works great for me at 6'4" and 220lbs. I even tried a 240lb skier on it, with no problems at all.

  8. I solved that problem thanks to Adam Cord. Placed a washer under the center fin block screw ( left side if RFF ), a .030 difference to shallow that side. Made all the difference to keep the tip down, allow the ski to turn better, and accelerate off the Apex.

  9. @eleeski ... I am not surprised at what you experienced. The Plus settings are good for the 200lb and over Guys. Gives the bigger Guys afterburner and can even the playing field against the lighter skinny Guys.

My main ski partner, Zack, is 6'@165lbs. Skis C2 into 39.... C2+ was way to strong for him behind my C200 6L. My other ski partner has a 17 C200 5.7 Rev R...Interestingly, Zack says he can feel the difference in C2 with Rev R vs S. He says S picks him up better and releases him better than Rev R. Also, all his PB's have been set behind my boat with Rev S.

    Currently 5.5@39.

Point being, you will like Rev S over R at the same exact setting. It tracks a lot more satellites, responds quicker, and should feel slightly smoother.

  10. I setup a ski partners 2020 this weekend. He had it at stock settings, L/S. Could not get past 3ball @ 35off. This was his 10th set. I watched him ski and the tip was rising off the apex, plus he was having to force the turn. I added tip 6.995, DFT .798, and shallowed it to 2.440. 9 degrees.

These settings worked great and on his next set ran up through and included back to back 38's with ease. He was thrilled.
