  1. @Skibabette, our 5 year old son is just learning as well. Same size foot, but only 42 lbs. I separated and mounted a rear toe plate (O'brien Jr. X7 rear toe plate) on a an O'brien All-Star Trainers. I was able to mount the RTP right behind the adjustable binding - that's about as far as his legs will reach. We bought the combos not actually planning on him being behind the boat this summer, let alone on one ski, but he loves it. Probably a temporary solution, but he has two younger brothers.
  2. 75Tique, glad you found "yours." I used a 35 lb river anchor which I used to gently drag in the vicinity I remembered last seeing it. Got lucky and found it in about 5 minutes. It is a submersible course that had been sitting for a couple of years in pretty rough shape. After two mornings of serious labor and little fussing today it is operational. Got to ski it this morning! Definitely a relief. On a related note: does anyone know how to set a waypoint in zero off (I think it can be done) and/or if it is an effective way to find a fill valve?
  3. Thanks all. I am going to borrow a fish finder and then try the "hook" method. Coincidentally, I asked a friend on the lake to see about borrowing a fish finder. The fisherman he asked grunted and replied that we could borrow his setup - he had marked because he was sick of getting caught up in it.
  4. Sounds scary, but might have to try it. Last fall you could see the balls submerged in the shallower end of the course, about 8' under. Course was in about 25' of water. I fear the balls deflated over the winter and its stuck somewhere on the bottom.
  5. Course is way offline from where it was last used due to a "lost" section. Course was up for maintenance when a wally took it out at approximately the gate. End of season so it got anchored and submerged.
  6. Does anyone know if a fish finder will locate a submersible slalom course? Asking for a friend...
  7. Found mine on SIA last fall. Sold my old boat on craigslist this spring.
  8. @jcamp Congrats on the tourney! She must have a great driver.
  9. Thank you all for your input. The original complaints were that the course wasn't marked and fisherman were catching lures, etc... When asked to keep the course up, we complied. More complaints after that. Of course, there were complaints that people could see the course when it is submerged. This year we proposed a compromise. Keep the course up early and late season to accommodate the fisherman so they can navigate around it. We did, however, ask to be able to submerge it on weekends (in July) when there is little fishing pressure and the traffic is the greatest (tubers, etc...) to alleviate some of the damage to the course and so that other boaters feel free to boat in that are of the lake, etc... Unfortunately, the president of the lake association, from what I hear, is opposed to the course. We'll see why in two weeks. @Deanoski What happened that you lost your course after 35 years?
  10. @davemac - prefer not to on here, but for reference, very close to the VT border
  11. For Sale: Submersible slalom course with lots of spare parts - free delivery in NH
  12. Does anyone have any experience with this? We have a permitted slalom course that has recently come under attack. The main issues, as far as I can tell, are (1) the aesthetics of the course; and (2) fisherman complaints (those damn lures are expensive). We were just informed that there will be an open meeting with the town, lake association, Marine Patrol, town police, individuals opposed to the course, and anyone else who sees fit to attend (2 weeks from now). We would like to be as prepared as possible and effectively present our case to the people. The course is submersible and on a relatively small lake (about a mile long - approx 450 acres). Last year marine patrol asked us to keep the course on the surface all summer due to fisherman complaints (fine with me). Permitted times for use are 7-10 am and 5pm-sunset. As far as I know, no complaints about actual use or other concerns. Any/all advice or resources would be greatly appreciated.
  13. thanks for your help gfin! Just looking to get ahold of someone who has successfully negotiated the proceess. I will attempt to find a contact at Riveregde and go from there.
  14. This may have already been discussed on here, if so I appologize. Has anyone applied, and more importantly had any success, with a slalom course permit application in New Hampshire.
