Good point on the zip ties vs the bungee.

My weight lifting workouts must be cut back a little during the ski season. I cut the weight down but keep reps up. I found it difficult to keep the heavy weight routine and ski. My poor old body just cannot do both. Perhaps I need to eat more meat.

I've heard/read a number of comments concerning the potential of a handle guard or Arm Guard creating a worse situation in the event of poking your arm between the handle and the guard and it not coming out very easily because of the restricted opening. I have an Arm Guard and it seems that such a scenario would be tough since getting the fingers through the guard is easy, but getting a hand through it would be tough - not impossible, but much more difficult than a head or arm through a yolk without a guard in place. Is there anyone out there that has caught their hand or arm through a guard and ended up with any kind of injury because you could not get the hand/arm out because of the guard being in place? If so, what kind or guard were you using?
I do feel the zip ties might be better replaced using a bungee type alternative, but I have not done that and don't know how well it would work. Comments on that are welcome as well.

I am laughing because your post reminded me of my own experience of skiing the little balls for the first time and skiing an inboard the first time. Priceless.

OB, carry a knife on you when you dive as well.

I had to pay over $600 to replace a KEYPAD on a Nautique (no labor, cost of part only). I will say I felt like the dealer could set whatever price he wanted, and did. I'm certain it is MUCH cheaper than that to manufacture - like maybe $30. Point is, based on that experience, the Linc will not be cheap even though it may be an inexpensive part to manufacture.

Yes, I installed inserts into my 9500. Used brass inserts secured with JB Weld and used stainless square drive machine screws with Locktite. Purchased the inserts and screws with drill-stop from mcfeelys.com. They work great. Prior to installation the screws constantly backed out even when secured with silicone. Ultimately a few screws stripped (there is nothing for them to bite into - Dave, are you listening? WE WANT INSERTS) and thus my decision to install inserts. I should have done it from the beginning - or better yet Dave should have put them the ski to begin with, but I won't mount that soap box. I won't be purchasing another Goode.ÂÂ
