  1. Jeff Rogers has a warrant out for his arrest in 28 of the 50 states. The charge...Course Slaughter!
  2. We run the standard 4 blade sea level prop on our 2019 MC with 6.2 and it works great. We are at 4200 feet above sea level and have no problem with hole shot or top speed. Highly recommend the stock approved 4 blade for slalom.
  3. The Denali C-75 is such a departure from traditional ski design I had to try it and I sure am glad I did. The ski just keeps getting better the more time I spend on it. I took last year off and had my 3rd back surgery in August 2018, so started 2019 off slower than normal. As I got stronger and more confident, I started going for it, but was not skiing as well as I had hoped on my old ski. I started trying different skis, but nothing was getting me excited or giving me any extra buoys. I was running 38 off 10% of the time and was getting frustrated. I decided to pull the trigger and ordered a large C-75 and instantly knew this was my new ski. First ride, tied my 2019 PB with 3@39. 2 weeks later, skied a 3 round tournament and ran 38 off all 3 rounds set a new 2019 PB of 4@39. I went from running 38 off 10% of the time to not missing it for 25 sets. I entered the BOS Cash Prize last weekend and did miss my 38 both sets on Saturday (mentally distracted), but managed to run in all 3 rounds on Sunday to place 4th and take home some cash. I got to meet @AdamCord and pick his brain on ski design and was so impressed with how Denali goes about testing, building molds, shape, theory, etc. When I got paired to ski against Adam in second round of H2H, I pretty much figured I was done, but Adam came into the 3 ball at 38 so early that he didn't know what to do with all the space and ended up loading the tip out of the 3 ball and when out the front. This ski has literally given me 6 buoys. There were 4 skiers skiing on them at the BOS cash prize and another 2 down in AZ last weekend. I know of 3 more people that have ordered them and are waiting to receive. If your looking for a ski that challenges the status quo and in my opinion is the first ski to change the traditional design that has been around for 30+ years, give this thing a shot.
  4. @Than_Bogan yes tuning to run -39 and 41. I am not noticing much if any downside to going deeper. Tried 2.52, 2.53, 2.54 and 2.55. 2.55 eliminated my offside tail release so that is where I am currently at. I would definitely encourage you to give deeper a try. 2.53 was fine at -38, but wasn’t holding at -39. Cord said he’s running as deep as 2.58 at 36 mph.
  5. @jayski I experienced the same problem and am currently sitting at 1.01 and 2.550. That fixed it. Don't be afraid to go deeper. I found that this fin takes bigger movements than what I was used to with a traditional fin.
  6. My understanding is that Caldwell co founded Denali Waterskis with Adam Cord and does make all of the skis himself. He just made mine and it works awesome. Wish I could make it run -41 like he does, but that’s more the skier vs ski.
  7. @Booze The ski was set up for a normal size guy. The guy that owns it is 180 lbs. It is a medium. I am riding a large and am 195 lbs. The large is not for sale, just the medium.
  8. A skier in our club has a new medium C-75 LFF ski with 12 sets on it. Mint condition. $1750 and will include shipping to someone in US. Ski is available and can be shipped immediately. PM me if your interested. I am on a large and am loving mine!
  9. I don’t mind skiing behind it. For me there is a significant bump at -28, but goes away at -32. The wake table is much larger than MC or Malibu, so I make sure my initial move on gate pullout is right at the edge of wake. It is a step backwards from the 200. Driving it seems to be ok, but I just don’t understand why anyone would pay an extra $20K to get this boat, when there are similar/better options out there for a lot less $$.
  10. Picked up a Large C-75 2 weeks ago and have approximately 10 sets on it. Really wanted to explore this ski, so started with bindings at 28.75 and moved them all the way up to 29.25 and back to 28.5 in 1/8 increments. Have settled in at 28 5/8. Next started playing with fin. Started at 6.90 2.49 1.04 7. Tail needed more holding power and I was looking for more acceleration into first wake, so moved to Horton's numbers of 6.804 2.528 1.05 8. These numbers are great until -39. Wanting to be able to move onto the front of the ski on offside turn and tail is a bit too loose, so moved to 6.795 2.550 1.01 8 bindings still at 28 5/8 and this seems to be where I need to be. Riding Goode double hardshell's. Matched my season PB first set on the ski and have been having some really good looks at -39 since getting on it. Now that I am settled in with numbers that seem to fit my style, can't wait to spend some more time seeing how far I can push it. Denali has a private user forum that you have access to when you buy a ski, which helps because valuable information is being shared by everyone on the ski. Haven't tried the long shallow settings yet, but will probably stick with the short deep since that is typically what I have been skiing with over the last 10 years.
  11. @ScotChipman1 do you have any idea what the difference in surface area is between the 2 different hulls?
  12. I received a qualification letter today, as well. The last tournament I skied in was May 2018. I took the last year off due to an injury, so was really surprised to get the letter congratulating me on qualifying for Nationals.
  13. @scotchipman - if you look closely at my offer, the $20/set is an off season rate valid November through March. Average water temp during those months are probably around 32.2 degrees F, with the majoirity of those months frozen solid Pulling a friend or ski buddy is totally different then pulling a complete stranger. I think Daves offer of $50/set is completely reasonable. If you want to make it consistent and get to know him and are not a complete a hole, then I would be willing to bet you could work out a friends and family deal. When I skied with @Horton he was very fair, but I would have paid a lot more to get him to stop talking so much...
  14. @bigskieridaho - If your in the Salt Lake City area, we would be happy to pull you for $20/set, November through March. AZ would probably be much warmer, but it would save you $30/set...just saying....
  15. Greg is one of the nicest guys you will meet and has everything dialed in. He eats right, trains hard and is a great talent. He used to ski as a pro, so it doesn’t surprise me that he finally ran it. I was in AZ in May and he was consistently getting to 3 ball at 41 and was making 39 look like a joke. He is definitely dialed in on his ski and it sounds like things finally came together for him. I said to a couple guys in May that he was going to run 41 off this year. He has some amazing tools at his disposal that allow him to make huge turns and get back in a pass. Kind of reminds me of Jeff Rodgers watching him snap a turn and get back into a pass and get to the next ball early. Greg lives in NY and trains in Florida on the weekends. Burns lots of jet fuel to feed his addiction. I see that he is in Spain signed up for the Big Dawg taking place this weekend. That lake skis great and would love to see him run it again there. That would quiet things down a bit. I am lucky enough to ski with a couple of pros that can run 41 off at 34 mph and do it very often. When they do, it looks very easy. Anyway, congratulations to Greg. Keep it rolling!
  16. Wow, tough crowd. Here is my take on the new upgrade. Zero Off (E Controls) has zero interest in our little segment of the world. It is such a small piece of what they do, they would probably prefer to walk away form the 3 event software all together. Zero Off did not have much (if anything) to do with this change, it was all done by the Zero Off committee with is comprised of 4 veteran water-skiers that donate their time and money to make our sport better. This committee did not want to disrupt or force anyone to make a change, so they have left everything in-tact (ABC, 123 ) as it has always been. I think there were around 5 people in the nation that actually used plus in it current form, so it made sense to update that feature and make it better. I don’t think it made any sense to have a 1.6% gate overspeed, only to limit the KP value to a 1.5% increase in throttle response. So the simplest thing to do is modify the plus to fix that problem, so more people would want to use it. It is not an option to add more letters or combinations, as it is already too complex with ABC, 123, +. IWWF would never approve it and USA waterski has been clear to the committee that it is already too much. So to provide a significant enhancement that many people will like (and some will hate), the Zero Off committee made a decision to update plus mode. I attend and drive many tournaments in the West and can’t tell you the last time someone requested plus. The software is free and you can rent the cable to install it, so what is there to complain about? Those that have a 2 puck system are already getting a slightly different pull than those with a single puck. If you want to try it, just switch over to trick mode on your 2 puck system and set your speed. If you like what you feel and think that it will give you more buoys, then pay to convert to a one puck system. If you don’t like and have no plans to ever use it, just stay with your current system. I guess I don’t see a whole lot of downside, unless you are one of the handful of guys that was using plus mode in it current form. Those guys have a legit axe to grind, but think that they will be pleasantly surprised once they try the new Rev S plus mode. We have had it installed on a 2015 Centurion for the last 6 months and can say it is a significant improvement. Rev S plus modes gate over speed is that same as traditional ABC, 123, however the KP value has increased allowing the boat to apply more throttle, once the accelerometer is engaged. This creates a much more constant speed and eliminates the variation that some of the heavier skiers (190+ lbs) experience. Some elite pros have struggled with ZO, ever since was introduced, because it limits the amount of throttle (blocking) it can apply. Guys like @CParrish43 are penalized simply because it takes more power to pull them and the boat runs on them from center line to buoy (not good). This should fix that problem and level the playing field a bit. I am personally very excited about what this means for the future of our sport and am thankful to all of the volunteers who have spent countless hours testing, programming, working with boat manufacturers to make this a reality.
  17. @markchilcutt we have a cable here in Utah and can use it to upgrade any boat that would to install the new S release. With regard to 1.6% gate over speed, this is no longer needed because the increase in KP value does not allow the bigger guys to slow the boat down. These boats have lots of horsepower that have been under utilized for a long time. Time to let the dog of the chain and see what it can do!
  18. I have spent a significant amount of time testing cold water settings and have found that when the water drops below 65 degrees, I move my bindings forward and my fin forward. Wing angle, depth and length all stay the same. Scores are never "as good" as skiing in 80 degree water, but I find that this simple move takes care of most of the cold water issues.
  19. He skis on a Goode 9900 Wide Ride and ate @Milford for breakfast Sunday morning.
  20. Hats off to Bob Hardeman for stepping up the first round of the head to head, throwing out a new M8 National Record with 2.25@39. Really thought my strategy of sending him out first was a good idea, but quickly realized he was tunnel vision on that record. Man I hope I am still skiing that well in my 70's! Great to see him so excited and move on to face Matt Brown. What a great weekend. The Mastercraft boats felt dialed in. The format made it competitive regardless of your level, so everyone had something to shoot for and feel challenged. This is what tournament waterskiing is all about. Great Job getting creative @Horton and coming up with a way to keep everyone involved all weekend long. Thanks to the @grubbs family for all the hospitality and use of the lake. What a great site! Can't wait for next year. So glad I made the trip.
