  1. Man, having the ability to see my entry gates, edge angles, cross course paths, speed through the turns acceleration and deceleration vs. some of those above stats would be wicked cool! Combine this stuff with some video and I'm sure the info. would be a tad revealing or in my case a tad over whelming... ÂÂ
  2. Ya, that's the kind of Cool "Training stuff" that would be great to see and hear on Slalom... Lee Trevino would have never golfed a tournament with anything less then a full Bag. But, he did make A LOT of $$$ beating anyone who was up for the challenge, with only a Coke bottle taped to the end of a club shaft!!! Most any local Pro golfer will go out and beat most challengers with only a putter and 1 other club of their choice! Has to make you wonder just what some of the Pro skiers are up to and/or actually capable of... -Hmmmm...
  3. Man Now thats really some great info.! I'm not into trick (sorry) But, who knows it's  looking more and more interesting the older and more scar tissue I get! Kudo's for all the well written info....
  4. I agree, it would be Cool to be privy some great pratice sessions. What about 37 or 38 mph practice passes? and all the cool training routines... But, I bet from a competitive stand point it might be better to have an "Ace in the Hole"... Not to mention, I don't know what their motivation for putting anything out there on vid. that a good % of the web would go out of their way to Critique and debate every nuance of their incomplete pass or passes!
  5. Ahh, crud... -Now what are we going to do???  No parades, No pro football, No Big eat's, No Big "O" mysteries to solve... I guess there's always College Ball, Day's of our lives and Dr. Phil! (cough, cough!) Man, I miss Summer!
  6. O.K. we deduced the Shadowbox is the mysterious gadget... (maybe even with a new slalom program.) The cable is a safety chain or leash in case the velcro or suction mounts fail... Shane has found a connection between the manufacturer and parent co. H.O.... The ski is surely a proto type w/o a finished skin. (looks a lot like the 1st proto type Elites that showed up 1st at tournaments)  Could it be the next generation Elite?  The binding does look a lot like the 1st Rs-1 knock off's that O'Brian made in 2007-2008 that were made in Hong Kong and didn't last in production. So my guess is O'Brian has now got it together on this Binding and is about to begin marketing there own updated closed toe intuition binding thats made in Mexico??? Horton, what happened to the getting warm/cold hints????
  7. proto type Radar?  Strada? But, why the Bio's on a proto type, unless those bio's are not even mounted... "Shadowbox" "Is O'brian now using this technolgy for R&D of ski's and Bindings?"  -what's my prize??? -ha,ha!ÂÂ
  8. Besides the ShadowBox, it might be an H.O. ski, a Radar sequence plate and an O'Brian binding... TW,  you only get an honorable mention, because you forgot to "Plug the Manufacturer"!!! -ha,ha!ÂÂ
  9. http://shadowboxlive.com/ If not the above "ShadowBox", then another product of the same breed. The tether cable is a safety chain in case the Velcro fails... The ShadowBox is probably one of the greatest inovations since instant replay! -Talk about logging your practice sessions (every detail) and review or analysis!!! Is O'brian now using this technolgy for R&D of ski's and Bindings? ÂÂ
  10. Sweeeeeet! T-up, looks like you got a few options there...ÂÂ
  11. "Old Hockey players never die, -they just get a new Wake Board"!!! -ha,ha...
  12. Matt is Great coach. I had the privelege of skiing with him a few wk's ago. I would love to do a small write up/review but, I'd like to see a great Bos ski school catagory to place it in... Back to the orig. topic, I'd really like to see Matt break down the wide ride characteristics. I have a Radar Theory and trying to find any help with set up and/or ski technique is just short of impossible. These ski's simply do not act or ski like skinnier racier ski's and some things that may apply to the typical high end ski fly right in the face of the wider higher riding slower (INT) mph ski's...
  13. I 2nd Brents suggestion. I felt the same way and started a thread called "RECOMMENDED SKI SCHOOLS, -or Not"... on 15 off because there was No way to quickly find school info w/o searching tons of misc. threads scattered here and there all over the site and people kept posting the same ski school search questions over and over on all different posts. Not to mention, some of the info that was written was not always written to specifically help someone looking for a ski school. The "-or Not" part was not simply to Bad mouth any ski schools or instructors as much as it was a way to help hold schools and instructors accountable for their practices and to help fellow skiers spend their hard earned $$$ confidently. Just as writing Kudo's will help to lend a level of confidence to one's decision, so does knowing that the instructor is no fun to work with, impatient or lacking good people skills, unorganized or not willing to meet you right where you are in your skiing, etc... A great skier doesn't necessarily make for even a good instructor. Great new idea's Horton, keep up the good work!   ÂÂ
  14. It is rather Ironic that all of Herb O'brians creations have continued to Dev. & manufacture in WA.!?!? I must say that Richard D., Officer (Sergeant) Friendly and their posse are totally inspiring with all their enthusiasm and commitment up there! ÂÂ
  15. Hey Shane, For me, my 2 most recited lines are: "Chick's, they dig me. -cause I rarely wear underwear"... and of course: "touch my stuff, and I'll Kill ya" or  "any of you HoMo's touch me, -I'll Kill ya"!!! -ha,ha! Great movie!
  16. Hey, now thats an idea! If I get bored this winter (like every other stinkin' winter!!!) I'll do that! and I'll probably fit the fin with a wing. Used to have some pretty wild blow outs waaaay back in the day with that ski. So, I'm sure I could never handle all that speed into/out of the turns now a days without a wing. Oh Boy, My 1st winter project!
  17. Hey T.W. -maybe you can shed some light on why my Very, very old (alluminum top) Jobe Honey comb is way, Waaaaay faster then my Annex? Just for the Heck of it, I took my old "dusty" Jobe out for a free-ride this past Labor day and Man that thing is wicked fast! It has the orig. rubbers, so I did not try to push the turns. But, I can say without hesitation that this ski from the very early 80's is hands down as fast or faster then a lot of today's ski's... WHY??? It also wgh's 1 lb less then the Annex w/rs-1's! I'm sure it's not as reliable/predictable through the turns...ÂÂ
  18. Does anyone know the MSRP for this ski??? "Somewhere between a D3 and an Elite"???
  19. As stated above, hard to tell from a still shot, 1 angle etc... But, that is some very nice lean angle for what looks like long line. "If" this pic is consistant with the whole pass and I were the one in the pic. then I would want to see a little more "Hips up" (engaged pelvic/ core) with the Leading shoulder up & back ( more level and squared up to the boat) and eyes/head Level and focused on the pylon (with no regard to next buoy)... That's just what I would want to see if I were looking at myself.ÂÂ
