  1. So I ‘ve been in a bit of a slump. As noted above, when in a slump, check your fin. So I checked my fin. Sure enough it had moved back 10/1000 and the rear set screw was missing. After fixing that, I checked my bindings (which are mounted on a slide.) I’d tightened them up recently but hadn’t checked to make sure they are were they are supposed to be. Well, I’m thinking that correcting a 5/8” slide forward will pretty much fix my slump. I wish I’d discovered and corrected that before Regionals.

  2. There is a dedicated practice lake in addition to the two slalom lakes, the trick lake and the jump lake. Practice for jump will be limited to the jump lake. The practice lake will be busy all week. Typically, you get your ticket, go to the practice lake, put your name on a list and wait your turn.  The system works pretty well.

  3. I did switch from a Radar Vapor Pro to a Denali C-85, but not because the Radar wasn’t working. If I hadn’t liked the Denali so much, I might still be riding the Radar. It was great at 32. So I don’t necessarily think you need to switch skis unless you aren’t on the right ski for you in the first place.

And while it is a little harder to get wide, it is a lot easier to make space. What you lose here, you make up there.

  4. It should not affect your decision at all. Riding in the bow is a bad idea in any boat, so Malibu is no worse and no better than any other bow rider. For what it is worth, the driver of the boat involved was not skilled and made significant errors himself. He was the grandfather of the child involved, as i recall. Terrible no matter how you cut the mustard.

  5. Analog calipers, spare fin, various nuts, bolts and washers (enough to replace anything I might lose or someone else might reasonably need, two sets of wing angle gages and a couple extra three d printed gauges in small angle sizes, a collection of different wings, + and - screw drivers, short and long shaft 5/32 Allen wrenches, pliers, tape measure, centering ruler, $20 (with a story), box cutter, double sided tape  and small rubber hammer.
