  1. R Doane: Picked up my new Strada last night. 2011 skin - nice looking ski. What are your current fin settings and are you currently on a 66" or 67" Strada ?  Thanks Rob (Jam Man)
  2. Richard, Have you been testing the new wider Strada (Strada55 or whatever they are going to call it)? If so, have you been able to equal or  better your Strada buoy count? I may have a buyer for my RS1 and if so I'm wondering if I should wait and ride the new wider ski before buying the Strada? Thanks
  3. Strada lives up to the hype I had a chance to ski the Strada for the first time last Friday the 25th. We were at Sun Basin and Ted Moser had a 67" to demo with the fin set up by Rossi. I've only been able to do a lot of free skiing on the river this spring so this was my first quality time on a course this year. My 1st set I ran my RS-1 and skied pretty well but didn't run my -32. 2nd set I ran the Strada. There was no "getting used to" the Strada;  it felt like I had been skiing it for months. The first thing I noticed about the ski was the smooth effortless turns followed by cat-like reflexs when I put the ski on on edge. I ran some good -28's on it and a scrappy -28 that I wouldn't have been able to run on my RS-1;  I only got 4 @ -32 but I planned to ski it again later. 2nd set on the ski was amazing. The more I counter rotated on my off-side the better the off-side turns got. I have never had off-side turns like that. I ran right up through -32 and got 2 at -35. My -32 was the easiest I ever ran on any ski - wide and early at almost every buoy. 3rd set was the same as the 2nd set running right up to 2 at -35. The main things I noticed about the ski is what OF had said in an earlier post -- you can make little errors on the ski but it doesn't seem to effect the pass. A couple times when I came out of a buoy late, I was patient, put the ski on edge and was early to the next buoy. What is strange is that when I put the ski on edge, the ski never feels like it accelerated to the point that I had too much speed to bleed off - it seems like the ski seeks angle instead of speed. I've never had a ski feel so comfortable and easy to ski off the dock. Now my only dilemma is trying to justify to my wife why I "need" to buy the Strada.  Jam Man
  4. Dean, Are you or Matt working on any clinic dates with Trent up at Crescent Bar this summer? Keep me in the loop. Jam Man
  5. ShaneH, that was a good one, actually laughed out loud when I read it. This thread has probably sold more Strada's for Radar then all their other marketing. The next step for Radar is to hire RD and OF to host their own radio talk show. What do you think Eddie? RD and OF - just givin you guys a bad time; I wish I could have made it down to down to ski with you guys this spring.  Talk to you later.
  6. Deano, We were just wondering about that last week. Heard from Todd Oberg that it wasn't in yet. Ed Klopher and I plan on trekking up there from Sunland a lot this summer - although we usually are early AM. Going skiing with Maxwell today on this side of mountains.  Tell Matt hi.  Jam Man
  7. RD That is some great skiing. Congratulations. Skied twice on the cold Columbia this weekend. Epic conditions. Good to be back out skiing  Jam Man
  8. RD, I can't make the weekend work. I'm towing the boat east for the season this weekend. Hope to ski on the river on Saturday. I'm out of town for the next 5 weekends. Do you still have your Tuesday PM slot at S.P. I might be able to take an afternoon off and hook up with you guys. Jam Man
  9. Mike58 is a real gem to ski with - one of the nicest skiers I've ever met (besides Doane :) ). Went to Kories with Mike in 2008 and Mike took a OTF and forehead met  ski tip. Circled back to pick him up and he had no idea of the gash in his forehead. Sent him off to Othello for some stitches. Mike - good to see you out running the Monza. I have my 2007 Red 67" Monza for sale if you want to upgrade. Hope you can make it over the Sunland this summer and take some sets on the Columbia with us.  Jam Man
  10. Richard and OF: Just got off the phone with Krofchek. Wiener,  Wally, and Krofchek are out at Spring Mountain Ski Ranch in AZ this morning (sunny, 65, no wind - sounds pleasent) Joe was setting up the Strada to give it a run. Said he call me later today to let me know what he thought. I told him that I can't trust his review because he ski's so well on any ski. I'll call you guys about maybe skiing this weekend.  Later, RJ
  11. Richard and OF, Your demo thread is killing me (I think you have broken the thread length record). I spent last year on a 67" RS1 and just traded into a 68" RS1 and now I keep reading this and thinking I need that Strada. I told Krofchek to check out this thread and now he wants to try one (I think Wally is taking one down to him in AZ soon or already has). You guys should go into marketing for Radar. Later, Jammerman
