  1. @DangerBoy @RAWSki The comparison to snow skiing is not fair. At each event there is no overall winner. I believe the World Cup champion is the skier with the most points totaled for all events. You earn points by your finish in each event. To me overall skiing is more like the decathlon.

If we all agree that the hey day of skiing was hot summer nights most/all of those stars were specialists.

  2. @BraceMaker The idea of seeding, is the better you perform the better your advantage. True in all sports where they do seeding. Snow Skiing, Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Football etc etc. It is about the event, the WR is secondary.

  3. The after 2014 Prostar’s has an open bow standard and is not optional. The bow cover is optional but most boats have it, the middle seat is standard also but also folds down to access the bow. Rear seats are optional, with most slalom tugs the backs seats are removed and never seen again.
  4. I am with @PatM here, the wind is not the issue - It is what it does to the water that makes a difference. I am too fragile to take a fall where I am not expecting it. I am too fragile to take a fall where I am expecting it, but that is a different story.
  5. I think the best we can hope for is the TWBC keeps getting better and they continue to broadcast these events.

I think an improvement and something that would keep the "down" time to a minimum is "get to know you" segments with the skiers. Call it long form interviews about their daily life. For example Regina balancing skiing and owning a business. Vennesa and Whitney about being a parent and how it affects training. Brooke about going to school and its advantages and disadvantages when competing in pro events, etc. In individual sports the audience wants to get to know the participants. It could be a 45 second intro prior to the first pass, and then another 30 second inbetween. Sprinkle in technique thoughts or favorite places to ski. Talk about their coaching or training routines. People root for people they find compelling. At a minimum the athletes should be getting the announcers written material to use so we can get to know them better.
