Pigozzi put his gloves on Amazon for a very nice price with the hopes of getting reviews. I bought a pair of the boar grips and took my first set today. Before my opening pass, i almost felt like I wasn’t wearing gloves because they flex well and don’t have the extra closures. After the first pass, I forgot that I was trying new gloves. The fit was great, I love the flex of the gloves back, and the palms were protective. I simply skied up the line.

He still has them on Amazon for a nice price.  I suggest giving them a shot.

Is he clowning by calling them fishing, sailing, and kayaking gloves, or did he let ChatGPT make up a description for "watersports" gloves or something? lol

@Horton be good to get your thoughts on how it compares to the outgoing model. When I got the 22 it instantly felt a little slower/ smoother /longer than my previous Vapor, a 2017, which was a rocket ship so was slightly disappointed.

If it’s a mega upgrade I’m going to have an expensive dilemma 🙄

friend of mine is riding the 2024 and finding it noticeably faster side to side than the 22/23 shape.

  3. Get with a quality PT and get a good strengthening program going.  Most of the time, joint instability like that can be fixed by training the muscles around it.  The exercises will suck, but it's worth it to get back on the water.  I've dealt with a lot of shoulder issues in the past but I've been pain free for two years now after working with a good PT.

  4. That rear boot is nuts.  On the idea of elevating the heel like that, I always thought that was counter-intuitive for most humans.  If I build up my heel, I end up pushing on the tail of the ski more.  I noticed an improvement in my skiing when I went from a Radar RTP with a big fat footbed to a flat, wafer-thin Wileys rear.

  5. If you DELETE the photos from your album, it deletes them from the cloud too.  If you use the "Free up space" option in the Google Photos app, it will remove the videos from the memory on the phone but keep them in the cloud.

Here's an example video zoomed to about 1.8x.  The shaking is from the camera mount and my big ass taking out the slack, not from the imaging hardware.  https://photos.app.goo.gl/MxWHSbiTvmDDuq1u7

The other cool thing about hosting your videos in Google Photos is it uses the Youtube player to view, meaning you can slow down to 1/4 speed by clicking the little gear icon in the lower right.  But when you do that, you wish you had a higher frame rate camera lol

This is a Google Pixel first gen.  Starting in the second generation of the Pixel, they introduced image stabilization that would cause all the funky video effects.  I haven't tried my current phone, a Pixel 5, with what BobF suggests, but I think I'm going to.

Does the Zoom control built into Wakeye control your phone's zoom level ?  (It works on my Galaxy)

Do you suppose I would get the Free Google Cloud If I bought a 2021 OG Pixel on ebay ?

Does you OG Pixel have a problem with vibration ?

OG Pixel refers to the very first Pixel.  Pixel 1.  Those do come with free unlimited google cloud storage. The Wakeye app does control the zoom.  I zoom to about 2x for 15-28 off skiing and it works great.

Related, so not completely off-topic.  I have had trouble with stabilization on my last couple of phones using Wakeye.  I found an app called Automagic (Like Tasker, but with a worse name).

The full version is available for free out there, since development has apparently stopped for now.  It allows you to set speed triggers for user programmed actions.  I have it starting my Camera app, switching to Video mode, set the video stabilization to "active" on my Pixel (since you can't make it default to that for some reason), then start video.  On a pre-set stop speed, it stops the video.  Works great completely unattended on the Ski-Doc.

If anyone is interested, I can export and send the triggers for that app.

Which version Pixel do you use this for?  If I can find something that works with a newer pixel phone, that'd be great.  I'm on my third battery on my OG Pixel

I have a slightly off topic question regarding wings. Since I got back into skiing about 10 years ago, I have never used a wing based off of reading this forum. I free ski about 30-40 days a summer, not very good, and never in a course. I have an HO Carbon Omni. Last summer I decided to try the wing just for kicks. It was one of the most difficult starts I've ever had. I was probably a split second away from tearing my lats off the bone (at least it felt that way). I only miss about 1 start a summer, and it's because of being off balance from the start. It's never because it feels so unbelievably hard. I took the wing off, and never tried it again. I drag a leg when I get up. Was that just a fluke thing, or does the wing make starts more difficult? I thought they're supposed to  make starts easier?

think this was a fluke mental thing.  A wing won't change the way your ski starts in the slightest bit.

From my time at perfski with MM, that’s what we both came up with, but thought it was an unusual step as we both thought the toe piece was removable/ replaceable just like the cuff…MM was convinced that he was shown this boot with the ability to unscrew the toe toe piece…

it doesn’t make sense to have a front boot that can use the reflex release, not to be able to use the rear boot without cutting plastic or drilling out rivets…unless of course, it was never designed to be used as a rear boot with the front reflex..?

why have rivets? Why not the same screws that hold the toe piece and cuff on?

Honest question: why run a release on front with a double boot setup?  If I was still skiing double boots, I'd dump my release in a heartbeat.

  10. Check your fuel pressure with a load on the engine, but those pressures are too high.  You should be 43-45 at key up and 35-38 at idle.

It should be a standard rail-mounted 3-bar regulator for GM.

When you remove it, reinstall it with some red loc-tite or the bolt will leak fuel.

Something like at this link.  Not sure if this is exact one or not.

Looking for some advice on the correct gasket for a thermostat replacement on a 2012 Moomba Outback with an Indmar Assault 325.

Do these look like the correct parts:

    Thermostat: https://global.bakesonline.com/indmar-160-degree-marine-thermostat.html

    Gasket: https://global.bakesonline.com/gasket-indmar-thermostat-2-bolt-housing.html

2 seasons ago the impeller came apart mid-season and the engine overheated. Both exhaust pipes were cracked but thankfully no other engine damage. Over the past few days the temp gauge on the dash has been acting a bit strange. At speed in the course it's fluctuating between 135 - 150, but at idle or while moving slowly the gauge rises to around 180. This is new behaviour for the gauge, in the past once the engine has warmed up the temp gauge generally sits at 150.

I checked the raw water strainer (clean), pulled the impeller (perfect condition) and checked the transmission cooler for any residue impeller debris from past impellers.

I'm thinking it could be the thermostat acting up, but any other ideas?

    Thx All

There are probably two gaskets there.  One at the lower union where the housing meets the manifold.  That's the gasket you posted in the link.  The second will be between the two pieces of the tstat housing.  At least, that's how it was on my Indmar Monsoon.  For that upper gasket, I bought some gasket material from Amazon and made my own.  It's an easy job with a crafting knife.

She does so many interesting and at the same time, odd, things.  Love watching her ski, but man oh man, I can see people getting lost trying to emulate her.

She has Gumby-like flexibility in every joint in her lower body to move like that on a slalom ski.  Emulating her style would put most of us in the emergency room.

  13. In my Response LX, the bow seating is ONLY used for idle speed operation in the no wake area of the lake I frequent.  Before we leave the no wake zone, I make everyone move behind the windshield.

At this point, I think we can add O’Brien to the list. Anyone seen the video of their top ski being advertised using a wakeboarder skiing the course? It’s terrible and couldn’t be more than 26 mph.  I applaud the wakeboarder but this is their best ski! It should be ridden by a real skier.

Not to mention it’s most likely still the Elite. That’s what, a 15 year old ski? It’s embarrassing. I hate this has happened to that company

Is that what Glen Campbell is still riding?

I'm not a good judge on the market.  A few Response closed bow of similar vintage are on Ski-It-Again in the mid-to-upper 20s.  Given its excellent condition and assuming it is mechanically sound (drives/skis well), maybe something in the 20K to 25K range would be appropriate.  Check to see if the PerfectPass is StarGazer (and maybe even Z-box).  I didn't see a GPS puck in the pictures, though.

GPS puck is present right in front of the windscreen on the driver's side.  It already has the multi-line display.  A Zbox and SG upgrade should be pretty easy and affordable.

I have a 2001 with Zbox and it skis phenomenally.

I may also have a buyer if you don't want it.

@Justin_C - sounds like fuel hammer, a known issue with that era Indmar.  I would also look in to improving the PP linkage / connection / cable alignment.  Make sure the cable moves freely, the alignment at the throttle connection is properly aligned and the L bracket is free to swivel.  Just a note - a PP system will surge if the throttle is below the set speed, simple to verify, run with PP shut off to see if that is a contributor (your comment of running 36 and having the problem implies that is not it).  PP has video & written troubleshooting guides on their site.

No L bracket on a Monsoon, but agreed on the cable/linkage tightness check.  Good point.

  17. Looks like fuel hammer to me.  In later versions of the Monsoon, the fuel lines that connected the two rails together had rubber sections.  If your crossover lines are stainless, you can replace them with Indmar part number 786129.  99 would likely had stainless lines from the factory.

A way to test if you have fuel hammer is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and see if the problem goes away.  The gauge acts as a bit of a buffer to the hammering issue.

If you already have the rubberized lines, you can have a hydraulic shop make you up some lines that criss-cross instead of making a rectangular flow pattern.  That's been the fix for boats that can't shake the hammer even with the rubberized lines from Indmar.

Cap and rotor are a good idea to swap too though.
