I’ve said it before,

1) $70,000 Ski boat.

2) $2,000-$10,000 on skis, vests, gyms, fuel, etc.

3) The $$ in hours invested in getting in shape, watching instructional videos, tweaking, reading BOS to get the ultimate edge, etc.

 

Then cheap out on the new, safe, pristine rope and grippy handle ($300) that connects all that from the water to the pylon!!

 

Makes no sense…?‍♂️??‍♂️

 

I change ropes and handles yearly.

Safety chains/cables have been longer since the introduction of the swing hitch which requires them to be attached behind the swing hinge. And because boats are wider now and sit higher on the trailer the length of the swinging portion has needed to be longer to avoid submerging the brake cylinder while launching/retrieving the boat. Makes for very long safety chains/cables. Not ideal from a safety standpoint.

Love the fiberglass platform but the cushioning product, whatever it’s called (not seadeck) tends to lift and curl a bit near the edges within a year or 2 making it look worn out and tired. The shop I deal with charges 4 hours to re and re the cushioning product. That’s $600 CDN/$480 USD labor plus parts. Yikes. Teak can be more easily maintained by the average garage monkey at a lower cost. If you can do the labor to replace the fiberglass cushion pad yourself then whatever but there definitely is a difference in maintenance costs depending on your skill level.

The WF does change how your ski feels. It will carve a tighter arc. Will it get you more buoy's?? You decide. It is amazing how the WF is so much smaller than a traditional fin but the amount of change felt doesn't match the fin size difference. You would think it would feel radically different with all that fin area gone. Makes me wonder how much of difference a few thousands of inch fin adjustment really makes.

Great price on the HO fin. Wow.

What my ears hear with different octanes in my 2017 6.2 truck going up a hill.

87 much detonation.

91 minimal detonation.

93 no detonation.

Manufacturer specifies 93 octane.

Even with all the sensors and electronics the timing can’t change enough to eliminate the detonation on the lower octanes.

Don’t know if the marine versions react the same way?

But they would be under load pretty much all the time except at idle.

If I recall correctly Supreme Boats was getting close to building a low dollar tug…then Correct Craft bought them and Centurion and scrapped it and the Carbon Pro. They figured they already had a proven ‘second line’ boat in the 200.

So, Flightcraft hasn’t built that boat yet? Have not spent much time on their site.

Yes, Stejcraft did have that way back. Good ideas stick around.

Making Outboards that can work for us slalom skiers. Nice idea on the rear platform.

Depending on your needs a resplashed/slightly modified deck if needed,

1) Slalom specific-CC 196.

2) Slalom + family room-Malibu SSLXi.

3) Barefooting-Sanger OB.

Much love for the TWBC! Very impressed and really, really enjoy the whole thing. I agree with the max starting line length of 32’ women and 35’ men.

Speeds things up for those of us that have a decreasing attention span as the years go by.

On a muddy lake and this stuff is magic. Spray on and the staining just disappears. Rinse off with water. May be a similar product to what others have mentioned. Not sure what kind of staining that is and if this would work but if you run out of options…

Find a ‘99-‘04 Malibu Sunsetter LXi. 21’8” overall but sitting on a 20’ Response hull with lots more room.

Has to have the LXi designation to get the notched hull.

End of search. You won’t regret it.

 

@Horton if you’re asking about the year of my PS it is a ‘17.

@OldGuysRule You can see the fuel level by lifting the rear hatch above the rudder? Can’t see the level on mine. Plastic is too thick or colored enough that the level is not viewable.

They must of changed the plastic compound to make it more opaque or see through. Nice. That works every time.

Nice boat! Was playing around on the boat builder and I just happened to make a similar color scheme.

Thanks @ScottScott. I have never used fuel with ethanol. Maybe the previous owner did and that 'contaminated' the sender?

Just had the fuel sender replaced on my 17. Gauge was stuck on full.

 

Even when it was working it would stay on full till approx. 1/3-3/8 of a tank left then move to empty very quickly. Would be nice to have this annoyance fixed.

 

Love the boat other than that. The wake and so many other things (racks, folding center seat, bow lid, roominess, etc) are outstanding. It does take a bit of concentration to keep straight in the course. Wife says we have to keep it for 5 years (purchased it used) so Oct 2023 it may be replaced with the new rendition.

If you get a chance try 22 off behind a 14 or newer Prostar. Tough to beat. Used to hate 22 off as well...not anymore since I got a Prostar.

Get a progressor rope with 18.5 and 25 off sections braided into it.

It will help you get to the next official line length quicker.

15-18.5-22-25-28 vs 15-22-28.

Bent presents the handle at a more balanced/neutral position to the wrists and forearms so stress and fatigue are reduced.

Radar Senate a good choice.

22-28 off at 32mph.

67” Senate. The right size for both of you. The heavier skier gets a perfect, great performing ski for 32mph and the lighter skier gets a larger platform for easier learning. The Senate will not be ‘too much ski’ for a beginner.
