  1. So after poking around with a voltmeter, I found that I was only getting 2 to 3 V from the “clean power“ lead. Once I provided a 12 V jumper to the hot side of the clean power fuse at the back of the engine, I would get a voltage reading and the engine hours displayed on the screen.

    Now it cranks very strongly but will not fire. I have fuel pressure on the fuel rails. It must me ignition related. No codes are present.

    I got up under the dash to try to locate where the “clean power” wire runs from the master switch to the engine, but I was unable to locate it. A wiring schematic would be nice.

  2. When I turn the key on, don’t hear any of the relays that you normally hear. When I press the start button nothing happens. I’ve had this problem off and on for the better part of three years. It’s always been somewhat manageable until now.

    Historically Icould jiggle the bus/relays in the back of the motor and it would fix itself. Earlier this year, I replaced all the relays because I thought they were going bad.

    Now, I can’t get it to turn over/start.

  3. Does anybody know what the source is for the volt reading on the touchscreen (see pic) gauge for the Mastercraft? My pro star is dead in the water. And I can’t figure out which wire is responsible for the reading on the dash. If I can find the wire I think I can identify my problem.

  4. I purchased a PS 2015 in 2015 from a ski school. Boat had over 1,000 hours upon purchase and it was out of warranty, but it has not mattered. I have put about 200 hours on it since I purchased. I have had a few minor issues, but the boat, engine and the electronics are still in great shape. They are great boats. Hard to beat except that the gas gauge is not accurate, but seems to be the case with every boat I have owned.
  5. I’d slow the boat down 1 mph so you can get the feel of -32. It makes a big difference and if your gate is wrong, the lower speed will give you enough margin for error to get the feel for the pass. This advice, of course, is worth what you are paying for it! I’d slow down the coat before I used ‘tweener length. Keep working at it!
  6. I will be in Palm Springs, CA from Thursday to Sunday. Is there anyone out there that would give me a pull? Happy to pay my way.

     

    On a related note, are they still skiing at this time of year? Weather looks like highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

  7. Many great comments. I feel that the best coaches can tell you to fix or focus on one thing that will correct multiple issues. This true for all sports.

     

    Otherwise is is impossible to focus on fixing several issues at one time. It is simply too much to think about at one time.

  8. To the BOS brain trust:

     

    My daughter is seven-year-old first grader. She wants to host her Indian Princess group at our ski lake. This group is essentially a father-daughter activity group that meets once a month to do father-daughter activities. I assume that none of her friends know how to ski. Here is my question.

     

    How many seven year-olds can we teach to ski per hour?

     

    We plan on using the skis that are tied together and we are located on a private lake. First we will pull them along the grass, then the shoreline and finally behind the boat. I think we could do at least two per hour. Is it possible that we can do more that two per hour? Does anyone have any experience with teaching a rather large group of kids how to ski? I plan on hiring two instructors (one on land and one for the boat) and a driver to facilitate this.

     

    I think we could have about twenty kids. I am all hears. I would love any guidance or suggestions.

     

    If I pull this off, it will have done my grassroots exposure effort for the sport for the time being.

     

  9. I have had several people ask about what slalom course skiing is all about. Since a picture/video is worth a thousand words, can someone direct me to a well produced youtube video that mildly explains and demonstrates what competitive slalom is all about? There may not be something out there, but I figured if there was, this brain trust would know about it.
  10. Your best bet is to lease out in highlands, tx at the private lake. That is the best club-ish environment near the west side. It is a straight shot down I-10. If you are looking for private lake skiing in katy, send me a pm and we will set you up.

     

    For open water skiing, the SB is the best option based on your location. It is still under appreciated.

  11. Think about bending your front ankle and putting 80% of your weight on your front foot. I you keep your front ankle flexed forward it forces you to put more weight on the ski

     

    I do not think it really matters if your rear foot is not flat on the ski.
