  1. Ed, I still have most of those Buying Guides from the late 80's up till around 2000. I really appreciated your evaluations, and looked forward to receiveing those issues back when ski boats were thoroughly reviewed. I could tell back then that words were chosen carefully, but if I read between the lines, I could understand what you were really saying. Thanks for your efforts.
  2. Probably a dumb question, but for those of us not using a Perfect Pass Switch, where are you placing the "switch" section of rope? At the pylon, after 43', or at the handle? Thanks.
  3. Sorry, I probably should have specified the skis since that is part of the reason I asked the question. I'm switching from a 2011 Senate-C to a 2012 S2. I'm somewhat hesitant to start off on the S2 because I've read on a few posts here that it is a "Tweaking" ski, and not one you will ski well on right out of the box. I'm afraid that going from one of the most user-friendly skis made (Senate) to one that will take some adjusting will make me judge it too harshly prematurely. When I do get on the S2, I plan to start one hole back, leave the fin alone, and go from there. You guys have all raised good points. Thanks for everyone's input!
  4. I've been off the water since last September, and it will take some time for me to get back in the groove. Should I start my season on my new ski, or get back into it on a ski that I've already got dialed in? Thanx.
  5. Can anyone tell me binding/ fin numbers for a 65.5"? Both factory settings and what is working for you would be greatly apreciated. Thanks!
  6. We're still using an Accu-Sink. If you are less than 7-8 ft deep on a public lake, don't bother. We are 9-10 ft deep, and when the level drops below 7-8 ft we get chewed up by boat props. Go with anchors at each end and a SS mainline. I don't recall the dia of tubing, but it is now over 10 years old and the cause of ever increasing problems with water entering the system. You will need to blow the water out of the system with the compressor on a regular basis in order to maintain proper flotation height to the balls. We use SS band clamps for the tubing, but those rust as well. I'll have to check out those plastic clamps. We use 120v compressor on shore, and run a line out to the course. Sorry, no install guide. Good luck.
  7. Jody, I recently rounded-off the bolt head on the brass plug at the bottom of the fuel/water seperator on my GT-40. Do you know of any tricks to getting the plug out without removing the canister? I hear that they don't come off easy, and since they are no longer available, I don't want to damage it. Thanks!
  8. I switched from using an Animal rear to a Strada with a FM front. The Animal would cramp my foot after six passes, but I can leave the Strada on to eat lunch if I wanted to. There is some heal slip with the Strada but that is what I wanted, and I've been able to get used to it.
  9. 67" 05' Monza - which has always felt stable, but I've often wondered if a 66" would turn better for me.
  10. What size HO A2 are users recommending? I am 6'-0", 155 lbs, and ski slow. I run opening passes 32 mph, and finish at 34 mph. HO's size chart says I could go either 65.5" or 66.5". I would appreciate your input. Thanks.
