Good skiing! I was at the exact same level as you at this time last year, and was having the same problems. I focused on two things:
1) getting a wide gate so that I could make a nice, easy turn in to the gates. I would still have plenty of speed and width, so I could start my preturn earlier and finish my turn with a leveraged position
2) keeping my head up in my turns, especially on 2-4 (LFF like you). This allows me to exit the turn in a nice leveraged position.
Keep it up! You're right on the brink of -28 at 36!
