  1. Oh, I was teasing about the airfare...if it wasn't so darn expensive to get there, I'd be happy to do whatever I can.

I know I'm like many other TC's who do it because we want too. I've never asked anything in return and I've been fortunate to work with several clubs who were basically as 'user friendly' as possible which makes life easy. Sounds like your club is pretty much the same.

  2. American Airlines doesn't charge any extra for waterskis - http://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/baggage/baggageAllowance.jsp - That means if you're a Gold or above Advantage flier they're free (no charge for other bags either). If you have to pay for bags, you'll need to pay the "normal" bag charge for the skis. Rules are as long as the bag isn't more than 125" total (length + width + height which means that most jump skis won't be free unless you find a counter agent without a tape measure!).

Now it does specifically say a "pair of skis" - Last September I went to the counter and said it was a "slalom ski" and she asked if it was a pair. I said "no, just one" and they wanted to "check the rules".....I said, "oh yeah, I actually have a pair of slalom skis in there". Problem solved.

  3. We had one of those things way back when I was growing up in Michigan. At the time it was branded the "sit-ski", powder blue with white metal hardware. It was fun to ride the first time (pre-teen). Two things I can remember clearly - 1) fall on/into that bad boy and you were sore for days (hopefully you weren't bleeding!) and 2) the previous model sank! If you look in the video, you can see some white foam on some of the shots, we never had that on ours. I remember swimming down in ~10' of water to chase it to the bottom...thought my dad would kill me if we lost it!
