I always thought they were two of the best exercises
you could do. However lately I have been hearing they
can mess you up. I due have problems with my hips
and am afraid the above exercises will make them
worse. I know there are a lots of knowledgeable people on
this site when it comes to work outs just looking for
some of your thoughts. Thanks
@MattP I am well aware of the rowing regatta, great event. Just think it would be really hard to get a motorized event approved I know the speed limit on the river is somewhere around 12MPH. At least the river is clean enough to swim in now on certain days.
@Edbrazil I also have thought a Charles River tourney would be awesome but I bet
the permitting process would be impossible or a total nightmare at best.
Years ago they had pretty good tests with all kind of info about noise level, acceleration, times
wake heights ect. From reading the description of the tests it sounds like they still do all kinds of tests
they just do not give the reader the info any more. There is nothing in the tests you can't get
of any of the manufacturer's brochures.
We ski with a guy who is always changing ski's changing settings everything is always crap except of course the skier. Well we convinced him that putting your fin on backwards was the hot new set up well he did it and actually skied the same as he always does.
If you look at the rankings as of today you need an average of 92.17 balls
to reach level 8 in Men's 3 and 92.75 in Men's 6 it is not getting any
easier for us old guys.
We had a competition on the mini course to see you could run the most buoys in a row
at 43 off. A buddy of mine (Skip) went first and ran 100 straight I went after him so had a goal to beat and did like 105 or something like that and I just about had a heart attack doing it. He would have smoked me if I had gone first he just did enough that he thought
no one was going to pass him. The course we had set up was in a tight turn area so the
spray coming of the side of the boat was hitting the skier real good every turn with the rope so short.
