  1. Keep in mind that the bubble back with a gt-40 has a loyal following and will hold value- I've had mine for several years and could sell it for what I paid. I ski regularly between my TSC-1 and my neighbors TSC-2 at -15 31-33 mph and don't notice a difference.
  2. @eddie_roberts_jr Thanks for the advice. I Saw in another post there is a difference between the 2014 and 2015 lithium vapors that make the newer version more forgiving. Is there a difference between the 2014 and 2015 graphite vapors as well?
  3. 163 pounds, -15/22 31-33mph (soon to be 34?) I have enjoyed the official BOS Radar Vice 66" (non-carbon) for several years and have really liked it. I've gained a few pounds (all muscle of course) since I started on it and I'm ready to upgrade to something a little lighter. I have an older 67" Senate (not carbon) and it seems a little big.

So for my next ski I'm thinking about a graphite senate 65" but since I'm near the cutoff for weight I thought I would put it out there to hear your opinion. I think the Senate 65" has a little more surface area than my Vice so I think it should be big enough. Anyone advocate for getting a 67 Senate or graphite Vapor instead?

  4. @OB as a non-tournament 15 offer I think your loop divisions sound fun. I wouldn't get anything out of skiing a tournament for rankings at my skill level. spending a Saturday getting smoked by some dude in my age bracket with fewer pounds and better abs always sounds less fun than the weekly informal "king of the lake" ski sessions we have at our lake. I could see where it would be fun skiing against a simple ability based group- somehow that seems more appealing to me than the buoy average system where I "beat" a guy because I improved my average even though he skied -35 and I got 2 at -22. To me it seems that the national ranking system should be a secondary consequence generated by fun and spirited competitions, not the main focus of the events.
  5. Agree with oldjeep. We have them in most lakes in Indiana and I've never seen them on a ski boat or heard of them being a problem for the boat itself- more that they spread from lake to lake and become a pita on docks, structures, beaches, industrial water intakes and such. My current ski lake does not have them and we don't let boats that have been used on other lakes be launched at the ski lake. The things are razor sharp and my previous ski club had them- needed to use gloves for course maintenance or they would eat up your hands. Kids had to wear water shoes to avoid feet getting cut. I definitely wouldn't be scared to visit a lake that has them. One of the bigger reservoirs (Brookville) that I visit I really only see them if I'm fishing for walleye and hook a rock that's covered with them.
  6. Just got home from the Indianapolis boat show. It's a pretty big show- runs for 9 days. Mastercraft had a nice blue prostar displayed in a high traffic area. Malibu had a TXi hidden in the back. And the Nautique dealer did not bring a 200. Seems kind of strange since Indiana has a decent number of dedicated ski lakes and skiers. Given that we're home for Nate I kind of expected to see some promotion for the sport from the Nautique crowd.
  7. road trip!- then you can ski it when you're there. If not then be careful with uShip- you'll get some non-legit offers. You might check with the RV dealers and see if you can find somebody hauling RVs from the factories in Northern Indiana- I found a guy to bring me a boat to Indy from Sacramento on his way back to pick up another RV in Elkhart. Having the dealer shrink wrap the boat for shipping was money well spent.
  8. agree with what others have said. I went there twice last year- both times Dan Odvarko was coaching. I really enjoyed it. really laid back atmosphere when I was there- they just had me keep track of my sets for the week and hand them the green on my last day. They had some Japanese students when I was there- Good advice to get there early but make sure you have cell numbers for whomever is coaching and driving in case you have trouble finding anybody when you get there. If it's windy ask to had over to lake 2.
