  1. Try not to reach for the handle and load the rope before the completion of the turn. Be more patient, and let the ski come under the rope before loading. Pull handle in low to outside hip.
  2. When boat is first started PP will not fully come on. After a trip or two down the course at high speed it will stop beeping/flashing then fully engage. This is after putting battery on charge overnight, making sure terminals are clean and tight, disconnecting stereo, and second new battery in two years. Other than lack of battery power, what else should I check?
  3. In order to angulate you must counter rotate. Counter rotating is a biomechanical move that lets your lower body seperate from your upper body.
  4. Had a PRP ( Platlet Rich Plasma) treatment in my left elbow two years ago and have been pain free ever since. Going for the right elbow sometime this fall. If the tendon is torn off the bone it's unlikely that PT and other remedies will fix it.
  5. I always thought that ski length has more to do with weight than height. But I suppose a taller skier could lean farther over the tip or tail, so maybe a longer ski would support you better. Just a thought.
  6. For all that have SG with Zbox, try the light setting. This seems to have made a huge difference in the skiability of my friends 93 SN. Feels much like the newer boats ( without the big price tag).
  7. Following the handle will keep you on the correct path. I recently had some coaching from Jamie B and he alluded to this concept.
  8. The newer boats are not only larger, they are heavier and have more horsepower. From my experience they ski much easier. Something to be said for all that momentum and extra power.
  9. Watch video of Regina, her outside elbow goes just behind her body on both sides.
  10. Switched to Powershells about 7 yrs. ago. Took me around 4 to 5 free skis to figure them out. I think when you change equipment you also change how you're skiing. Maybe a little tenative. The day I went out and forgot I was on the new set-up was the day that it started to work. I have now had the same Powershells on 3 different skis.
  11. Ah yes, I had Aqua Sport jumpers, tricks and slalom. The jumpers used to crack accross the tips. Even split one down the middle. No problem, just srewed a couple metal strips accross it and kept on jumping. I still have an Aqua Sport Masters Slalom and a Norine Bardill. Also had a Voit Slalom.
  12. Tried putting extra weight in the bow. This lowered the roostertail.
  13. Chuck, does the 50/50 rope have less stretch? Not sure my elbows, shoulders, or back could take it. I usually try to buy a new rope every year, as it will have some stretch when new.
  14. First time I skiied behind my friends 2010 MC this year (-22@34) I almost went OTF at the gate. Three adults and a child in boat.Plus my friend is a tricker, so the tank is usually full. I have a -25 loop, so I now start there ( somewhat better). The thing is, -28 and down I simply love the way the boat pulls. I get an extra loop down the line, feels like the boat waits for me just at the right time.
  15. Thanks Chuck, I may give that a try. Would'nt ski without the handle guard, but sick of the twisted rope. Ive tried the rope without handle behind the boat trick.
  16. Colder water equals higher viscosity, warmer lower.
  17. My rope curls like a pigtail after just one use. I do have a handle guard, and since I usually fall or let go during a set , the handle drags behind the boat at 55k. Does the handle guard make the rope twist more? And why does it seem to always twist the same way. Could it be the " Coreollis Effect" ? Just joking. But really, this is quite annoying, I try to staighten the rope before I ski, because I think all those twists could act like a bunjie cord.
  18. My friends GT40 did this quite frequently. It was usually a clogged fuel cell (filter).
