  1. Speaking with the MC CEO, he said they actually physically weighed all their boats as the published weight were way off. The statement of 300lbs lighter I would believe to be true. The only question I have is (they have so far hand built 4 boats, none production, 2 are to be in Calgary, and 2 in Europe this weekend), once they start producing "off the line boats", are the weights going possibly go up?.
  2. I've been on a 66.25" S2 since November 2011, and initially set up just forward of stock binding position. Ski was great, and took me to new practice and tournament PB's (1@ 28off). After a conversation with Karina at the Australian Open (in which she said that HO's tend to work a little better with bindings back), I moved my binding back one hole and again I set more PB's.(4 @ 28off) I have been contemplating moving forward again, once I start skiing in September to see if it makes any difference, but I do know with my technique & at my level the ski works well at 29 3/8" with a reflex & toe loop.
  3. I have an S2, (love the ski) and spoke with Karina at length about it, and why she wasn't riding it. She absolutley loves the ski, she commented that the ski was Bob's (LaPoint) pride & joy, best ski he has ever designed. The only reason she wasn't ridding it yet, was the fact that she hadn't spent enough time on it and in her words "knew she could run 39" on the tried and tested A2.
  4. Hi Guys,

Been a lurker for a while, this is my first post. I tend to disagree with Marcus (whom I have met/skied with, prevoiusly).

My view is that if more high quality skiers/ski events are around, the sport gets more / longer exposure, appeals to an broader audience, and lets face it, we 40 + yr olds are the ones with the money that the sponsoring companies are targeting. It may be that initially the prize money drops slightly for the Elite skiers, but, I see more potential for larger sponsorship / promotion in the future.
