  1. Thank you for the replies. I am picking up a mechanical gauge this weekend to see if the pressure is indeed what it is showing at the gauge. Trying to get my hands on a diacom too but I may need to get to a dealer for that. I will also try the canon plug. Hopefully it is something relatively easy to diagnose / fix.
  2. I shipped a boat from Missouri to Michigan a few years ago through uship for $500. If you are flexible on the dates it can get surprisingly cheap.
  3. Years ago I had the same problem. Turned out that I had connected the hoses back up the wrong way around. I had the intake on the output side of the pump. The hose pressure would force a small amount of water through the engine. I finally figured it out when I hooked a hose up and put it in a bucket. Only took me a few seconds to figure it out when I saw that the hose was blowing bubbles...
  4. Not sure where you are located but there is a 99 Gekko GTO 22 in the Detroit area for $12,000 with only 87 hours. Looks like it needs a good buff and clean but not too bad. http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/boa/5788424416.html
  5. I found my last two through Search Tempest. I bought my Response LXI from a bass boat dealership in Missouri. I had it brought to my door in Michigan for $500 through U-Ship. The internet makes everything easy!
  6. MC stopped using wood towards the end of 1983.
  7. I had a similar issue with the step pads for the walkover on my Malibu. I found that the only thing that touched it was 3M adhesive remover. It came up very quickly with the 3M and a plastic scraper. No marks what so ever in the gelcoat.
  8. I had the same issue on my Malibu. I tried removing it with polish and a wheel and it wouldn't touch it. This year I tried Biokleen and I was shocked at how quickly it worked. It took off all of the discoloration in about 5 minutes. http://www.biokleen.com/hull-cleaner
  9. I bought mine here: http://www.boatliftanddock.com/c-338-aftermarket-aluminum-frame.aspx
  10. You aren't missing a tracking fin are you? I have a Malibu Sportster that came with only two tracking fins and has the same "slippery" back end when in the course.
  11. Probably not the best advice but I had a buddy that towed a dune buggy one way from California to Michigan. He reserved trucks through a few rental companies at the airport. He went company to company and crawled under the trucks to see which one had a receiver. Budget had a Chevy truck with a trim piece over the receiver. He just removed the trim and installed a hitch. Once he got back he just put the trim back and they were none the wiser.
