  1. Rope slip would definitely be an issue, just not sure how much actually occurs. I put some tape on my pylon to line it up with the rope, skied a pass and it was still lined up. You would have to ensure it is in line after each pass, but once the rope is tight, I don't think there is too much slip.
  2. It seems like there is decent amount of discussion around video stabilization. Does most of the vibration come from the slack hit vibration or the vibration of the pylon? When I had a Trakker, it seemed that the slack hit was the cause and made it pretty difficult to view the video.

I have a Malibu TXI which has a pylon where the rope mount actually pivots/swivels with the rope. I am thinking that if I found or created a camera mount that connected directly to the bottom collar on the plyon, the camera could move independently of the rope, eliminating the slack hit. I think this would only work on the Malibu as I don't think the other boats have this type of pylon.

    Anyone have thoughts on this?

  3. It depends on the ratio of height to circumference about the mid section. The higher this ratio, the great the coefficient of drag, and thus the harder it is to get around the bouys. The only way I see you getting around this handicap is to shave your beard and your hair to reduce the wind resistance, along with wearing a speed suit perhaps. Maybe you could put 6" spacers between your bindings and ski. That would get you some extra reach. But then I'm worried that could affect your stack and the outward cast of the ski, especially with your wing upside down.

This is what happens when replying to a buddies ski question while laid up with a season ending shoulder injury.

  4. Super interested in hearing people's opinion of this system. I'm considering a change from Wiley's and want to find the safest system available.

This looks like a really nice design. I like the fact the Mike has been refining the system for the past 20 years with no injuries.

  5. My 2012 txi with 5.7 monsoon seems to be having a small issue. WIth a relatively cold engine in the first run up of the day, as I apply throttle, the engine sputters a bit. Never happens again, just that first run up. Any ideas what it could be?
  6. I am considering switching from a Wiley front boot to a Reflex front boot. Not sure which one to get if I decide to try it out. Any recommendations on whether I should consider the white cuff, black cuff, or Supershell?

A little history to help me make my decision. I broke my foot in Animals eight years ago, switched to double Powershells for a while but didn't like the Velcro do to unwanted separations from the ski. Switched to double Wileys a few years ago and have been fairly happy with those and feel pretty safe. Now I'm thinking about front Reflex and either Wiley rear or RTP. My main concern is safety, I'm not interested in breaking my foot or tearing up a knee or achilles. Performance is second.

    Any recommendations are appreciated.
