  1. The Carbon Pro is an awesome boat!! The sea deck floor is awesome. I have the brown hardwood look and it doesn't get hot. You do have to take the bimini off but it fits over the engine cover. The boat drives great! Especially the 12's since the rudder was moved a bit compared to the '11's. The '11's still drive good - I have drove many people through 39 and even a few 41s. We are selling our 2011, red and back, if you are interested. And we will be getting a '13.
  2. We are excited to have the Disabled Nationals at Shortline Lake this year! I hear there are athletes from Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Australia coming as well. I will make sure to do an update and take some pictures. They can always use some help volunteering for these events. If you are around come and help out even if it is only for a couple hours. We are having a 2rd Slalom Record on Sunday for all the able body skiers. We still have a few spots left. @usaski1 - See you in a few days Mark!
  3. @scotchipman - that would be great to see!! I think we should make it mandatory for the top water ski countries, 6-7 of them, to host 1 event each year with a minimum purse of $75-100K

The U.S. Open used to be run at the end of the U.S. Nationals but it seems like the Big Dawg Finals have taken over as the main focus. It would be great to see the U.S. Open ran at the end of the U.S. Nationals again. I think both the Big Dawg Finals and U.S. Open can be run at the U.S. Nationals. The Calgary Pro ShootOut is at the end of the Canadian Nationals this year; I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out!

  4. Coming into 3 I still thought that I was going to crash until I was able to release. Most people on shore were at 3 and said that my eyes were enormous and they agreed with everyone, that I was showing too much butt. It is not comfortable skiing with your shorts that high.

@SkiJay - I never felt the ski come 100% out of the water, I think 1% of it stayed connected to the water and that is what allowed me to pull it off.

@Brent - I did that same "Superman" at 3 ball at 39 at Regionals as well. The company doing the photos had a bad disk and lost 6 out of the 8 open men skiers' photos but they were able to get the run off. I am trying to get the photos from 3 ball from someone.

@bishop8950 - Thanks Bishop! Keep up the great seeing as well!

@Joeprunc - I have sent the photos to HO, we will see if they do anything with them

  5. During the Western Regionals I had a runoff since I had tied for 3rd with 2.5@39. We had been waiting for about 35 minutes before we took 38 cold off the dock. The photos below are by LMP Photography and are a sequence of 2, 3 and 4. There was a lot of talk about this after I skied as everyone, me included, tried to figure out how this happened. I talked to a few people who had different view points and they all gave their own crazy story which made me think how I didn't end up in the water. I think Matt Brown's story may be the best. He had a view from the dock looking down the lake from behind. I am working on getting the boat video. I will post that as soon as I get it.

  6. I must admit, I was impressed with Dirt's skiing this past weekend!! After he ran 1.5@39 in the first round, he told me he was dialing in the Goode as a backup for his A2. But after the second round....which ski will he stick with??? I don't remember how he looked on the A2 last year so I can't give my input on which one he should stick with.
  7. @6balls You have to go off of feel. I skied at 7 last summer and when I was skiing 7 this spring, I felt the ski wanted to head down course on my off side and it did not want to come back underneath me to finish the turn. I went to 7 1/2 and it fixed the problem. In short, you have to go by feel and you will learn what works for you by experimenting with it a bit.
  8. I recommend not touching your fin. Once you find a setting that works, leave it alone. In warmer water (water is slower so you need more speed), go down a 1/2-2 degrees in your wing angle and vise versa when winter comes and your in colder water (water is fast so you want to help burn some of the speed), just add a 1/2-2 degrees. Let me know how it goes if you try it.
