  1. One of my daughter's really good pics. I like seeing the path of the ski from my gate glide to finishing 1.
  2. I have matched my tournament PB 3 times. 2 at Record, and 1 at C.
  3. My biggest challenge with mine is actually trusting it and letting it come to me. For so long, I've felt like I had to "help" skis finish the turns, and that is an incredibly difficult thing to overcome. Almost every time I end up in the water watching the boat drive away, it's because I took a turn that was already almost perfect, and added to it.... The last few weeks, I have actually let the ski ski, and am consistently getting to 3 and 4 at 38, knowing that if I would stop pushing, I'd be working on a 39 gate. I freaking love my 6.1.
  4. Matched my tournament PB twice (so far) with 2@38. Upped my practice PB by 4 buoys to 2@39
  5. @jwr - I was in Clemson in 1987. That was my first exposure to the ski club. Perhaps our paths crossed...
  6. Thanks for the feedback @MrJones. I can feel a little of that....but not severe.
  7. Sorry, @gmut - 66". I'm about 5'8" and running around 180 this year.
  8. I'm on the 6.1, and currently running: 29-3/8" 6.826 (tips) 0.764 2.5045 8 Absolutely love it. Matched my tournament PB last weekend with 2@38, and got a practice PB last Tuesday of 2@39. I might move the fin back just a touch... Nothing like being on Team Mapple. @mapple has something very special, and I am loving being part of it!
  9. Sweet, sweet boat. Matched my tourney PB again...2@38. One more round tomorrow.
  10. Look what showed up...eat your heart out ballers!
  11. @OB - some say you should use the white, and swear by it. Others say the black is better. Andy doesn't even sell the white (I'm sure he could get it). I'm on the black, and love it. In fact, since I wear the cuff a little looser, I don't even think it's relevant. And I don't need to cut mine down, even when I was wearing it tighter.
  12. I think you will like it, @OB. I thought I was "connected" on my Powershells before, but the Reflex is even more connected. I'm finding that, as mentioned above, finding the right setting on the straps is important. I'm snug on the bottom, tight on the center, and the upper is just connected loosely just enough to keep it from coming out. I fine that the bottom of my foot is planted firmly, but the loose cuff allows my ankle to pivot just enough in every direction to keep me freed up. Like you, I was on the Powershells, and have used double high wraps since I was 13. Not having the feel of a binding on my rear ankle was strange when I went to the R-Style. I'm sure I could get used to it, but I just sewed a drysuit strap to one of my intuitions, and it still feels like I'm wearing a boot. Next spring, I want to try a RTP...
  13. I'm loving the Reflex and R-style. I have a wide, flat foot, but did a little modification to the arch area of my front shell with a heat gun, and it is much more comfortable. I may do a little more in the off season. I also got some metal buckles to swap out for the metal straps, but have not installed them...
  14. I just talked to Katie. Try again.
  15. That is odd. I've been in communication with @Mapple today. I'm sure that if you leave a message, someone will get back to you soon.
  16. Practice PB update to above. Skied with Jeff Rodgers tonight, and it all clicked. 2@39 straight out the boat. My face hurts from smiling so much
  17. Practice - 4@38 Tourney - 2@38 Mapple 6.1
  18. One of ours is 1,540 ft, so we have to start going away and turn. We are all 34mph skiers, but have pulled some 36 guys there.
  19. @Ed_Johnson....this is my first nationals, and yesterday was pretty cool. I was there all day and woul love to have met you to put a face with the name. Not going today but will be out there tomorrow.
  20. My 6.1 really feels good on this south Florida water. Been pretty banged up for several weeks, and really needed to feel what I did this morning..... Feeling better about being here.
  21. This is my first nationals. Ever. Going to just have fun.
  22. That's a good description @ShaneH.
