It may also depend on what octane of fuel you are using in the boat and what speed control system you are using.

@Hortoncan you elaborate a little more on leaning harder? I interpret this as three options/ways this could be achieved in the course.
1. Rolling your ski on a higher angle2. Pulling more on the rope
3. Perhaps you mean both at the same time?

Haha - that would be fun but unfortunately not in the cards at the moment. Hope it sells soon for ya!

Nice looking boat! Wish I lived closer!

In my opinion - turn islands are all about individual preference and what works for you, your setup, space, activities, and what the design is.
For our lake we were a limited by space (property line) and location. Our lake is 2000 ft long - so feasibly we could have done without any islands - however we also wanted to preserve a beautiful oak tree and create an island with additional oak trees. With 100’ diameter islands and 100’ between the banks we have plenty of room to ski at all line lengths around the islands. With many of the new skiers we pull, once they get up it is nice to keep them skiing - more time on the skis rather than trying to get up again. Turn islands allow us to do that much better. Wakeboarding is also better with the islands as they can settle back in behind the boat around the island and get ready for another pass. -
Didn’t track as many as last year - but had a great time none the less.

Makes sense - I really appreciate all you do for us @Horton! Thanks for a great product and place for us waterski crazies to congregate!

Is there any way to shorten or minimize the font size of the description of each thread? This would allow a user to see more than three or four threads at a time. Just a thought.
-
@Horton - on the Vanilla forums we could see our comment history and all the threads we started. Is that info part of what was left behind?

Down a few pounds free being sick the week before a two week vacation. Ready to hit the gym hard when we get back into it next week. Hope to gain a few pounds of muscle and really work hard on the core.

Have two and trusting my youngest will join the skiing fever ASAP!

Awesome and Congrats @horton. Thanks for being here for us crazy skiers!!

Happy happy Thanksgiving to all you Ballers! Trust you all have a blessed day with family and friends. What are you most thankful for over the past year?
For me it is: Faith, family, and the privilege of waking up each day striving towards some personal goals. AND skiing! Tried my best to get out yesterday but two inches of the thick stuff put an end to that:

@JoelHowley - in my humble opinion I just believe you made the “BOS Post of the Year”.
@Horton - if you never had a Post of the Year Award, well, I think you should.
New saying for me next year, a variation on the “Chad Powers” tryout - “Think like Joel, Ski like Joel”

Was privileged to have met him once - at Radar Lake no less, where he gave us a tour and walked us through the whole ski manufacturing process where I promised to buy a Radar ski. (Vapor is on the ski rack now).

No way can it be done anymore - anyone try to get fiberglass lately? Lead times are crazy right now, as are prices. Still loving my 2001 SN. Hopefully a long time till a repower is needed.
-
Have one last ski set schedule for late November - otherwise we are done. Windy like crazy here.
-
I was impressed by how well Joel keeps his chest pointed or facing down the lake throughout the pass. Can’t see that in the overhead video but you sure can on the boat videos.
-
Another day on the water - love nights like these!

How about some insight on how your training regimen (skiing or workouts) has changed/evolved as you have become “wiser”.

I had been at a 1.067 for DFT on mine. Kept moving it back as I was really overturning and doing the pressure relief wheelie after my offside turns. Today I’m going to try a 1.03 DFT.
Since I am on the small end for my ski I wanted to tune the ski so the water was breaking in the front of my front boot, DFT and LE adjustments have really helped. My consistency also increased - though I am nowhere near 80% at my 32’ off passes.
-
So I am 165lbs on a medium and record flex my latest setup was:
Front boot at 28.5”
Length: 6.703
DFT: 1.040
Depth: 2.549
Wing: 9.0
Those settings were working really well for me, but I’m going to try another setting here tomorrow. I had a lot of wheelies and slack rope on my offside earlier this season. This setting eliminated that tendency. Ran a 35 at 32mph on it. (Only once though).

@TheNYDad - start a new thread and that will get more attention.

Are you in the slalom course much or mostly free skiing? That is a big factor in determine what type of ski we (BOS) would recommend.

Great Podcast @MarcusBrownand Jenny!
The three categories really helps to make the information manageable. Great work.
