Well, ran back to back 35's yesterday ...started with a more controlled gate. My glide speed was slower than I usually have , my turn in was focused on setting the skis angle, then my load was more of a blocking ..... My 2nd 35 was better, its truly hard not to just explode thru the gates as this is my hardest pass. It's taking a lot of mental toughness to ski this way. Like most skiers I want the handle so I can go hard. I'm finding that style just makes me miss the pass ... Thanks for the help

Ok, in an never ending effort to run -35 or should I say own 35, ''gate speed'' really does make a difference. If one could have the perfect ''out and in'' what speed should the skier be at right before he turns in? This does'nt seem to matter at the longer lengths... with a faster skiers speed when I turn in, I cant seem to control the speed into one ball. I go down coarse, If I have a slower appoach I have tighter one balls Any thoughts ?

Well, thanks for the feedback... to finish my story the pro coach said its '' result of what you have done'' leading up to that edge change, Just like Marco stated... So I have been working on his tips and man it not easy.. I have trouble running my -35 consistently. Some days i can run 3 in a row other days I'm 1 for 4. The coach told me i was ''pushing'' at times behind the boat. This pushing causes the ski to Slow which leads too narrowness at the ball or bad edge change (take your pick) . I can still push my way thru that pass but it's a rodeo --- and I'm not a good cowboy!

I recently skied with a pro coach and asked him to define the edge change in physicial terms. I had a page full of my thoughts and other notes I had gathered to help me try to improve on my edge change. I ask the coach to read them to see if he agreed with any of these ideas.... well after he read them, he kinda wadded em up and put them in glove box, I could see he was thinking, as he hooked up the rope to the plyon. I'm on platform fixing to drop in water ,...ready for his answer, his quote was''There is no edge change''. I'm like what !!!

Real sad when we are having SR drivers pulling kids and LL skiers just to keep their rating ...yea Sr. have to send a video in each year to stay current but driving is a skill developed by driving short liners...not by a fuzzy video sent in. Again it would be nice to have rating for drivers based on results.

I totally agree. Would be nice if there was a way to rate drivers...... say if we could track the best driver's based on their driving bouy count! That's the guy I want to ski behind
