  1. @6balls yep, very fun to drive. I'm the only skier left in the family, all the kids love tubing, kneeboarding etc.... So when it came time to replace our Avenger O/B, I refused to go the wakeboard boat route. I knew of this design and it's a great compromise. Had to drive 8 hours to get it. We've had it about 6 years now.
  2. That list makes me realize how hard this silly sport is. Rodgers clears 41 almost 20 years ago and the record has only progressed by 2.5 buoys. And Rodgers and Mapple weren't using these new scientific rocket ship skis that are used today. That's some amazing skiing by those guys!
  3. Are you strictly concerned with wake characteristics, or are you looking at overall slalom performance which would include tracking, etc...? If you're just looking at wake shape, go find yourself an early '80's Avenger with an outboard. That was our ski tug for 20 years (no bouys around here). Tournament boats don't come close to the small size and softness of that wake. It doesn't qualify or pretend to be a tournament boat due to tracking, etc..., but the wake is phenomenal.
  4. @NoProblem if the rubber piece is not dry or brittle, it can be removed. Each end of the rubber cover has a groove underneath and is made to be pulled/stretched and then lifted up. It might be easier to explain in reverse...to put it on, slide one end into place and then pull/stretch the other end over the fin block and the rubber than "shrinks" back into place. Clear as mud?
