  1. 3M makes some really good gelcoat treatments (compounds, cleaners, wax, etc...). I did ours a few years ago and now maintain it with Babes products. Still looks good.
  2. I'm at the office, so just have a few on my phone. It's likely going to get an upholstery job this winter.
  3. @6balls yep, very fun to drive. I'm the only skier left in the family, all the kids love tubing, kneeboarding etc.... So when it came time to replace our Avenger O/B, I refused to go the wakeboard boat route. I knew of this design and it's a great compromise. Had to drive 8 hours to get it. We've had it about 6 years now.
  4. Maherajah still in northern CA...for when you just gotsta go fast.
  5. There's a ski club on Oahu. Buy a condo and rent it out for the months you're not using it.
  6. You could probably call the store/marina and inquire about it.
  7. Did you ski behind that Lund?
  8. Holy crap. I hope repairs and everything goes smoothly without hassles from insurance.
  9. Extremely jealous here! Sounds like a great hunting trip. Have a great time.
  10. That list makes me realize how hard this silly sport is. Rodgers clears 41 almost 20 years ago and the record has only progressed by 2.5 buoys. And Rodgers and Mapple weren't using these new scientific rocket ship skis that are used today. That's some amazing skiing by those guys!
  11. Are you strictly concerned with wake characteristics, or are you looking at overall slalom performance which would include tracking, etc...? If you're just looking at wake shape, go find yourself an early '80's Avenger with an outboard. That was our ski tug for 20 years (no bouys around here). Tournament boats don't come close to the small size and softness of that wake. It doesn't qualify or pretend to be a tournament boat due to tracking, etc..., but the wake is phenomenal.
  12. Mastercraft LaPoint Pro was the 1st ski I got on where I thought "Wow!".
  13. I was stunned when I saw this this morning. Prayers and condolences to Deena and the family. I got into water skiing in high school in the 80's and remember he and BLP going at it many times. Just awesome to watch. RIP Andy.

    BMW ski boat?

"For Sale: BMW convertible. Very clean - just washed. Slight water damage."
  15. You might try Seth's drill of pulling out to one side and holding that lean/stack position away from the boat for the length of the course.
  16. Take your ski and a rope. There's many opportunities. Hook up to the paddle boat around Tom Sawyer's island, It's a Small World would be a nice long run, or add a little excitement to your skiing and avoid the wild animals on the jungle boat tour. Otherwise, what Cayman2 said.
  17. That Seth Stisher fellow has some good videos as well.
  18. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/spo/5062312782.html For those wanting some nostalgia. I know nothing about this ski other than I saw the ad, so thought I would post it here in case someone might be interested.
  19. Oh how I wish we could get any sort of storm through norcal. 10" here would barely scratch the surface. I hope you guys don't get negatively impacted with flooding or anything.
  20. 1996 Suburban or 2001 Yukon.
  21. @NoProblem Good question about the serial number. I don't know the answer to that. If I think about it, I'll pull the rubber off mine next time I'm at the boat and see if that's where the serial number is located.
  22. @NoProblem if the rubber piece is not dry or brittle, it can be removed. Each end of the rubber cover has a groove underneath and is made to be pulled/stretched and then lifted up. It might be easier to explain in reverse...to put it on, slide one end into place and then pull/stretch the other end over the fin block and the rubber than "shrinks" back into place. Clear as mud?
  23. Thanks @dchristman. I knew it was sometime in the early '80's.
