  1. I thought I was supposed to be looking at my spray??
  2. I'm in the same boat as @Pat M, so we're running up today for the afternoon to tube and ski the kids/cousins and then get off the water for the weekend.
  3. I watch Nate and it looks like he sets his back pocket on the ball and keeps his lean from there. In other words, on 2,4,6, he just sits his right back pocket on the ball and goes from there, holding a light and consistent lean position. Sure looks easy enough!!
  4. OK, I posted before watching that last video. Awesome!
  5. I'm with @Texas6....does she really drive a Cobra (even if a replica)?? Way cool Nicole!
  6. Add a motor, tranny and driveline to the trailer axle and a front wheel with some steering linkage and you're good to go!
  7. @Horton, give yourself a panda for that 1st post!
  8. Looks like you're trying to out-do Horton in the hair department in that first pic!
  9. @rodltg2 is right. Most lakes here in n. california are looking like mud puddles. We're going to be facing water rationing if we don't get some serious rains soon. Couldn't ski Saturday, so went on a great motorcycle ride instead. Crazy to be able to do that at this point in Jan.
  10. I've done what you're considering but you do need to consider 2 things. First, as has already been mentioned, decide how good of skier you are, and second, be honest with where you want the ski to take you. Are you at the beginning of an aggressive approach to advance into shortline, or is that not necessarily where you're headed with your skiing? In my case, I was coming off a 1980's era ski, so most anything would be an improvement. I'm a better than average free skier (there's no local courses here ), but I don't envision working to achieve 38 off at this point in my life either. Based on that, I wanted a quality ski that has somewhat of a reputation of being easy and fun to ride. Did some research here and found a deal on a D3 RCX that was a couple years old.
  11. @xrated, I was thinking the same thing.
  12. I ride a Vstar as much as the weather will allow, which is quite often in norcal. Unless it's wet or really cold (frost/icy mornings), I'll average riding it 3-4 days a week to work.
  13. That white/blue combo with the 'SS' stripes makes for a gorgeous boat.
  14. Does your garage look like your kitchen? If so, he's a brave man!
  15. Very nice! (but wow, you must have a lot of time on your hands!)
  16. @DefectiveDave, I was in your shoes a couple years ago. Only my ski was even older - an '80's model Competitor X. I picked up a D3 RCX and put some medium (same size foot as you) Wylies on it and am loving it. I don't have access to a course locally, but I can tell it's improved my skiing a ton and is fun to ride. Hence, my earlier comment about getting a used ski, putting some Wylies on it, and go have fun.
  17. Get a ski that's a couple years old on ski-it-again, put some size medium wileys on it and go skiing. That set up will last you a long time and be a definite improvement over what you have.
  18. hmmm...they're more diversified than I thought. Makes me think they may have broached the topic with the city already at some point in the past. It would be a STEEP uphill battle with the city as has already been mentioned.
  19. Would you like to take any bets on their response @Mattp?? I think "Athletic" refers to golf, tennis & maybe swimming.
  20. There's not an ice cube's chance in hades of that happening. Aside from city issues, I bet the members of the Olympic Club would fight it every step of the way.
  21. Weather's not an issue here. It's my daughter's darn basketball schedule that's tough to work around from now through February, bless her little heart.
  22. **Disclosure...the following comments come from someone (me!) with no ZO experience & may therefore be WAY out of left field** It occurs to me that different skis (Vapor, NanoXT, A3, Quest, etc...) all have different characteristics/strengths. One ski might allow you to obtain massive amounts of speed while another might allow you more control in other respects. Since people buy skis that fit certain characteristics they are looking for, is it reasonable to think that said characteristics of a ski should be able to be matched with ZO settings? Maybe this is something ski manufacturers could pursue and even make "stock" recommendations with their skis? This just hit me while reading this thread, but I'm a little short on coffee yet this morning, so take that into consideration!
  23. Thanks for piping in Seth. That adds some clarity to both body orientation and arm pressure.
  24. "Let's see...avg. annual rainfall = about 6.5"/year here. Yep, I should be skiing in about 15 years. Hmmm...maybe that's why I got this place for the price of cleaning the crap out of the house!"
