  1. @bdougherty , agreed. He's putting himself in position to break the WR sooo often. 3 chances in one day! And it's only June. He claims that he's been to 3 @ 43 a few times in practice. It's only a matter of time before he's the outright record holder.
  2. @rq0013 , A friend of ours at the club uses a Wakeye and it doesn't seem to produce as smooth of video as our setup.

I use a GoPro 3 in HD narrow. We are 15 off skiers. I don't have a problem with how the skier looks in the frame. You can still see every detail of your skiing because the resolution is so high on the GoPro.

Here is the device I modified. I started with the EZ Cam. Then I stripped it of all the added components and stuck a GoPro mount on top. It works flawlessly. Also, it only costed me about $60 (a little better than the Wakeye). Obviously it can't be used for other cameras at this point, but I don't plan on filming with anything other than our Hero3.

  3. Cool. As my wife and I were watching our sets on video yesterday, we both realized that whenever we were WAY early to the gates, it completely threw off our one ball and affected the rest of our pass. Like you said @bogboy , bleeding off too much speed.

I'm sure this has been said in a thread before, but while we're on the topic right here.... what's a good reference point at 32 mph? Also what's a good reference point at 28 mph? I think I've heard to wait until the gates are even with the bow of the boat or with the windshield of the boat. Is it different for everyone?

  4. Currently, i havent been worrying about hitting the gates or getting close to them at least. Should i start trying to in order to help rythym and timing? In addition to getting wider? Thanks
  5. One of my passes today. A month ago I finally ran the course at 26mph. Now I'm at 32mph.

I know that my body position isn't great. My one handers are weak too.

If my main issue is body position (being stacked), let me know. But if there's anything else that's holding me back, please point it out.

I love you guys. Much appreciation for all your past advice. It really has helped me progress this season.

  6. @Garn, I too would be interested in some more information on this topic from some of you pros. I weigh 150 and I'm on a 67" Senate C. 32 mph skier almost ready to transition to 34

I've heard some pros say "when in doubt, go bigger". Bob LaPoint being one, April Coble being another.

  7. I agree with @SkiJay. Especially if their ultimate goal is to carve it up in a course one day.

If they want to start on combos... cool, but I would transition to deepwater starts on one ski shortly after they feel comfortable with two.

My wife is a great example of this. Last year, she skied on combos for about 3 runs or less. She wen't straight to deepwater starts and one ski after that. View my most recent video of her and you can see that she's been quite successful after only 11 months on the water.

  8. Sent to me from Terri Schneider (senior marketing & communications coordinator)

***see attached word document*** (let me know if you can't open the file and I can email it to you)

I know this doesn't contain scores, however, Jen Abel (masters event coordinator) said the ALL the information would be at the Marketing Vault at corporate headquarters. She will look into it when she goes to corporate office in a week or so.

Hopefully this helps a little bit.
