  1. The ProStar rudder is actually hand-tuned at the factory and water-tested as you mentioned. Some drivers prefer more pull, however, I have never found the need to additionally grind the rudder on any of my boats.
  2. It's not about minimizing effort, it's about maximizing the result of your efforts. If you feel like you are working too hard it's 100% due to some form of misalignment. Time to figure out why you are having to work so hard.
  3. Super fun weekend. Really cool format getting to ski against the MM dudes buoy for buoy. Kim, Marc and the entire Aquaplex community stepped up as usual and made the event one to remember. Congrats to Fennell on his win in the handicap bracket and Willy in the H2H. Really nice to meet all the Ballers and see such passion and on water talent. Horton, you killed it bud.
  4. Sad. Reeling here in tx. Bound to hear countless tales of affected people that never met Andy, but are moved all the same. Really, however, his legend was trumped only by the individual. Even if u never met him, u were in awe as we, his friends and competitors were. He possessed a spirit of life and competition that I'd never seen and somehow managed to exceed expectation. The greatest, a legend, a friend and a mentor. Thanks Andy. TF
  5. InTow stuff is really impressive. Well priced, little to no break in required and super accurate; not to mention made in the USA.
  6. For clarification, asked the guys at the factory; no change in shaft angle from the 14-15. TF
  7. @murrski Just a word of warning, but I strongly suggest you not wear neoprene socks in rubber bindings. I realize that the T-factors don't release, but the neoprene against the rubber will ensure your heels have zero lift in a forward fall. As such, your achilles will take the full brunt of the forward motion. I've unfortunately seen the results of someone in a very similar set-up with a neoprene warmth sock. Rock the gloves, but I'd reconsider the socks.
  8. Frustrating I'm sure, but the good thing is MasterCraft has a full 5 year warranty bow to stern. Goodeskier, dm me if I can help in any way. TF
  9. The way I assess the ProStar is maximum 'skier input' while still being locked into the center of the course. You can really feel where the skier is in the course and need to be careful not to overcompensate. This boat is your path of least resistance to better driving. TF
  10. @skier2788 man, tough one. Call me. I'll find u a ride. You're skiing too well to be sidelined man. Talk soon.
  11. I find this thread kind of strange. There isn't this rift between Pro and BD skiers. What the BD guys, Chad, Jay, Todd and the crew have going on is rad; an ultra-competitive tour of events where the winner is typically anyone's guess. I think what people lose sight of is that skiing's broadest fan base doesn't solely exist here, within the pages BOS. The sport's consumer base, magazine readership and participating public are not as connected to the industry and its top athletes as the average BOS reader. a sort of 'forest for the trees' thing is going on here. BD is not taking dollars out of Nate, WIll's or my pocket. Likewise, Degasperi and Rossi aren't bummed that BD has a solid following. I have guys on the BD whose skiing I follow closely and cheer for emphatically; dudes I respect as skiers and as people. These two facets of the sport coexist seamlessly. TF

  13. Ya…Solid weekend. You guy's will appreciate this. Mike Babcock Slays. I sessioned with him last summer on the lake I grew up on, Emma Lake, Saskatchewan.
  14. For what its worth, I couldn't be more disappointed with this proposal. First of all, slalom is confusing enough to explain/view as it is. This sliding gate rule only further complicates things (you must go through the first set of red balls…except on the first pass, as long as you make your gates and run the complete next pass.) Further, the entrance gates are no less important then three-ball for example. Why not miss three- ball on your opener (so long as you run the next pass.) I think the only real problem is what is and is not being asked of the judges. Lets eliminate lengthy gate reviews and give the boat judge a voice again. There are three judges, therefore no tie can exist. If it is so close that the gate judges split, give the call to the boat. I realize that his view is vastly different from the towers, but if it is close enough to split their decision, then it is obviously crazy close. They are judges, allow them to make a judgment call. Lets save the mulligans for rec tournaments (which are super important, and receive too little attention.) TF
  15. I got my hands on a few bottle of Kilo Kai myself. With Perrier, on the rocks for me and my girl. I'll have to re-up for the holidays. Lets support those who support the sport.
  16. That was the highest cut ever at a World Championships….. TF
  17. Could be stated in simpler terms, but yes. Which skier were u talking to? TF
  18. Really important thread, and if approached properly, applies to skiers of all levels; especially beginners. TF
  19. You guys are right, criticism is what helps steer the industry. Constructive criticism is key though. Let em know what you want, but man, don't blast their current efforts. For me, I feel New City's approach and dropped an order myself. But, keep the suggestions rolling. I know JH appreciates it. TF
  20. Alex, I think I would go ahead on the 65". TF
  21. Skoot. Ill message you my email address. Easy fix.
  22. Where are your bindings/what length ski? TF
  23. Hurry please. Needed it yesterday.
  24. I have to disagree with that notion. The A3 is remarkably 'controlled' from the centerline, out; meaning stable through the edge change. As such, it's accommodating for any 'style' of skiing. I wouldn't describe my own skiing as overtly aggressive, and this ski suits me really well. It holds its speed very well through the turn, so my best advice for riding this ski is capitalize on that speed. Be prepared to ride further through the turn, closer back to the wake before engaging the rope.
