  1. We all have been ambassador's I am always talking about skiing and things related to it ,maybe to much.Been sking for over 20 yrs and I began with an old ski club GWWSC,gone now but old timers will know that club. The club practiced on sat & ran a club tourney as close to awsa as possible, thats what hooked me was working my way up the speeds. One weeked a month in the summer and that was enough for me then.Best part was that this was at a private lake and local owners would join in and that was cool.Club went from 30 -40 people in the 90's to a hand full of skiers soon after. All my kids came with me so I killed the rotation sometimes but at the end they were calling me sat am looking for skiers.Start a club ? I think u know about GWWSC your dad was in the boat when I broke my knee cap on a ski weekend years ago.
  2. My only lanyard story is as follows- I have a 2002 American skier pro and every few months for the last few years I've have an intermittent electric problem(it dies) but after a few minutes it would start and go back to run great.By accident I messed with the lanyard and upon a closer look at it I noticed a slight bend in the part that holdes a button in , it was slighty warped and caused my problem.Got a new one and problem gone after years.
  3. Hey. I think the main point is that both driver and skier are on the same page. Once the skier says something I always say 'here we go.Of course I'm straight and lined up & ready to go.I have heard a lot of skiers say a lot of things & I like the word 'gear' loudly and I like that word.
  4. Skied last month with a mens 8 or 9 skier that i just met at the lake i ski at and learned a cool term "gear".At first it was funny but after a while i found myself doing the same but with a big smile on my face.Talking about skier -driver communation when getting ready to be pulled out of the water to begin a pass.My guest who i just met was up first and when he was ready to go for his set he shouted "gear". I figured it out what he meant but there was a smirk on my face.30 mph 15 off no problem.22,28,32,and 2 @35 off the dock.Granted he had every brace made on ,he still rips.Once i embarassed my self barely running my opener @32mph 15 off.Had a fun time with a fellow skier that i didnt know and now i find myself using this term.lol
  5. I also skied with a mens 8 @ paradise this past month or so. Dont remember his name but i gave him a pull because the tourney was full and he was just pasing through the arvin area.Same numbers ,wonder if its the same guy .
