  1. @TEL lets have that conversation. I'm guessing it'll be 2.04pm Friday ?
  2. The best guys webcasting the largest water ski event in the world. I'm in!
  3. @unksskis Thats's my girl!
  4. @markn see you then. I have this feeling it'll be a good time ?
  5. @ALPJr though I applaud you greatly for your wonderful answer to sad ignorance, your list missed a detail: 1ST SKIER IN THE WORLD EVER TO RUN 41OFF. World Record Holder - 1@43 off - - Held exclusively from 1997 to 1998 when some guy called Andy Mapple tied him. - Held jointly til 2003 when Chris Parrish added a quarter buoy. - Also the first skier to run it at 34mph but in the scheme of things that's almost irrelevant.
  6. @Luzz Jeff Rodgers constantly has me eyeing a foam three buckle and wondering if I could pull it off. I'd also wear it for tricks [on topic]
  7. Well holy smokes, this is fantastic. I feel incredibly honoured to have been a part of the genesis of such art. I remember being around that age and drawing pictures of Andy Mapple, Glenn Campbell and Jodi Fisher. This is so much cooler both in ambition and execution. Made my day.

Skied it a couple of times the last few days. You guys are going to like it.
  9. Seeing as my name is in the title of this thread I feel I may be forgiven for passing comment on its content. Clearly the score which lead to this thread being opened back in June has not survived the vetting process of the Europe and Africa Region Tournament Committee and will not go down in history as a legitimate score. My understanding is that the score was taken out because there was no adequate end course video submitted for the round of the event in which I skied these buoys. As a result the Regional TC concluded it had no way of knowing legitimacy and so decided it should not stand. This was my equal best score of the year and an equal PB. It was also a contributing score that led to my #1 spot on the IWWF World Ranking List which ranks the average of every skiers two best scores. I have been asked in recent days if I am upset about this score being taken out of the books. The simple answer is not particularly for two reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, as a sportsperson, I am totally uninterested in being credited with any score, accolade, victory, medal, record, prize etc that I do not deserve. The otherwise misguided comment above is correct in that water skiing doesn't really pay, certainly not in the same way as other sports do. With that in mind my belief is that most who take this game seriously are doing it, in large part, because of a great love for the sport. If this is the case, surely we want the sport to be played fairly, with integrity and with a right and just outcome. I am totally happy to submit to the powers that be when it comes to monitoring which scores should and should not enter the scorebooks as they have a greater access to the tools for monitoring these things. (I am, however, not going to get into their choice of World Championship venues ;) ) Secondly, this score contributes to my position on a list that, in my opinion, is of lesser importance than one might imagine a 'World Ranking List' should have due to consistent rumours that all scores are not achieved under the same level of scrutiny as one another. Accordingly, I welcome the recent review of the scores by the E&A Regional TC and by any other such body. The other list, the Elite Ranking which incorporates placements at the biggest events in the sport, is seen as far more important by all who might label themselves a 'Pro' (and by sponsors alike, contrary to what I've seen written previously here). Wins outweigh scores in all but the most extreme instances. All this is to say that, while it is a shame that scores are being taken out and that it is felt they should have to be reviewed, perhaps we can all agree that this is an opportunity for water skiing as a whole to commit to cultivate and maintain a level playing field upon which some fantastic sporting duels can take place. After all, is that not what sport is about?
  10. @OWSC come to @theboardingschool. I need to know how much travs moving against me to keep me on my game
  11. This confirmed what I already knew - that Steve at @OWSC is as good as anyone in the game at driving. Beyond that I see uses for this including giving drivers immediate feedback to improve themselves and skiers knowing the legitimacy of their practice pulls. However for me far and away the most exciting result of this system is the potential elimination of "aggressively helpful" driving in tournaments. No need for end course video with its many, many issues when the path is recorded right there in the app. Perhaps the world ranking list can regain some of its legitimacy.
  12. @MrJones I've never felt better, thanks for your concern ?. Don't know about you guys but I'd rather watch Mr Pig ski more than anyone else.
  13. Well holy shit, I think I disagree with @MarcusBrown on something. Weird day. For me having my legs slightly closer to parallel to the water than my upper body allows me to actually put angle on the ski that I need to create speed without creating excess load. I always find that by puffing my chest out and going into the 'traditional' lean I end up leaning back more and therefore loading harder. As a heavier guy I always find over loading against Zero Off kills me off the second wake, exactly when I want least load on my body so I can change my edge efficiently.
  14. @Horton show your respect to Freddy please. He is far superior to the driver you have just mentioned. The fact that he is not German may or may not be relevant. #brexitmeansbrexit
  15. @BraceMaker if you want help with that negative attitude come ski with me in Florida if I don't make it to Moomba, it'll be a good time.
  16. I'll still be in Florida or else I'd be booking to come along with you, @Luzz For anyone else who hasn't been to Jolly Ski, it's phenomenal and the surrounding area that I've seen during my trips for the San Gervasio Pro Am is incredible too. From that event I know for sure that Matteo and his family know the score when it comes to skiing and hospitality. This will be a seriously good trip.
  17. @Jaypro jolly good to have you, I had a lot of fun and you guys all skied great. Looking forward to the next time. A little surprised to not see a mention of your new buds the BFers
  18. @MAD11 has engineered a new limited run of World Champion Edition fin clamps. I've been using this on my ski for over two years and it's always steered me well. Super adjustable and stable. This batch is also customisable with your name/ whatever you'd like for the next few orders. If you'd like to get in touch about getting one my email is freddiewinter@gmail.com.
  19. @horton, that graph paper HO with pink logo on our f1 bet?
  20. @dhofert @mbabiash @Bill22 @skihart looking forward to seeing you guys out here again. The last couple of weeks have been a lot of fun with all of you. Just keep your dirty hands off my trophies
  21. For the best ski ever that's not manufactured anymore? Priceless.
  22. For real though, that's a 2015 Monte Carlo. Same ski I've been using for 3 years.
